What? Not going to list every single Dragon Quest & Dragonball game ever made? The CT team was made up of the Dream Team of both Square & Enix. So yeah, they all worked on tons of other projects, but pretty much none altogether like they did for CT...It's why we tend to get excited for Kato & Mitsuda pairing up whenever they do. Honestly it's kind of weird how one-sided this list is for Square games...🤔

How is it one sided? The Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross team didn't make that many games outside of Square. Sure if you want to list and to attach Akira Toriyama's name to everything he ever did fine. But I'm focusing mostly on games that members of the CT/CC team mostly did while they were relatively close together and still apart of Squaresoft. Feel free to add to the list if you want.

If you mean single key members sure but as far as the body of the team... That's not entirely true. A large group of CT/CC members worked altogether on plenty of games. Here is a list of how many members from the CT/CC team worked on the other titles:

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (19 members)
Treasure Hunter G (16 members)
Threads of Fate (36 members)
Brave Fencer Musashi (25 members)
Xenogears (29 members)
Vagrant Story (40 members)
Legend of Mana ( 42 members)
Secret of Mana ( 15 members)
Seiken Densetsu 3 (23 members)
SaGa Frontier 2 (40 members)
Final Fantasy 7 (18 members)
Final Fantasy 8 (50 members)
Final Fantasy 9 (43 members)
Final Fantasy 10 (24 members)
Kingdom Hearts (19 members)
Dragon Quest 8 (43 members)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (70 members)
Deep Labyrinth (Masato Kato/Scenario) and (Yasunori Mitsuda/Music) (2)

Even though these games might not necessarily be related to CT or CC many of them still contain the heart and soul and creativity of the CT/CC dev members.

Question self-answered! It was Square *and* Enix. You say all those people worked on those other games but exclude the art director because he's prolific? Personally I just don't see how many of those people really matter to Chrono's heart & soul. The only 3 I care about are Kato, Mitsuda & Toriyama...No Another Eden seems like a glaring oversight as it's seen now as the series successor. I have a sore spot for ignoring Enix because of all the idiots who blamed them after the merger for stuff like X-2 or whatever else about Square decisions that were made that they didn't like. Don't mind me, uh, er...[/rant]

Because without the programmers concept designers and graphic designers you wouldn't have the look and feel of the game. And that's a big part of the games soul.

The art direction and graphic design are major factors in a games soul. From the pre-redered backgrounds...the magic effects/design found in the battle system...right down to the detailed and colorful texture work on the environments/3D objects. Sure Kato..Mitsuda..and Toriyama were major factors but they weren't the main body that actually designed programed and brought these games to life.

And you can see bits and pieces of just how good these people were creatively in the other games listed. For example: take the Baten Kaitos series for instance. If you knew nothing about the series and I told you it was a sequel to Chrono Cross you might believe me because both games had the same art director..Yasuyuki Honne who did the pre-rendered background painting and design.

The intent of this topic isn't to show you how much these other games are like CT or CC rather more along the lines of: just how creative and visually similar in some ways they are to CT/CC from having members from the same dev team. Which brings me back to the "heart and soul" of the designers.

Just added Deep Labyrinth for DS, to the list. Masato Kato did the scenario and Yasunori Mitsuda did the music!
