So I just wanted to give an update on the whole job thing.
So I did have an appointment last week with my old temp agency and they said they are going to put my name into a job, so I'm waiting to here about that. I also applied for 4 positions with one company over the weekend. I temped there before and I loved it, but I'm not cut out for sales, so I applied for non-sales positions. I even took a leap and applied for both a training and a quality assurance job. I am qualified for both and it definitely would be a step up from what I'm doing now. So now I'm just waiting to hear back. Also, all positions are full-time!!
So keep your fingers crossed for me please!

Good luck on the job front!
I'm back to being in a similar boat. Things have been super busy the past few weeks (thus my lack of activity), but my wife and I have decided that we need to make some changes for our own financial/personal/mental stress/whatever wellness.
Which includes a potential move and job change.
Hang in there and stay strong. Keep us updated!

So I talked to my temp agency yesterday, I should have an interview at the end of next week for that job and I'm still waiting to hear back from the other place. I just applied Sunday, but I just want to hear something! Ha ha! Email me NOW! :lol:

Sorry for the double post, but I had to let you guys know that I have an interview on Monday for a quality assurance position. Please send positive energy, prayers, whatever your thing is because I would love this job. It would be a big step forward for me. I also have an interview on Thursday but that job is kind of a last resort for me, I would much prefer the job I'm interviewing for Monday.

Thank you! I'm so excited and nervous. I actually googled the average for the pay for that job around my area; the lowest would be well over double what I make now. So I have my fingers crossed! I actually interview very well, I can count on one hand how many times I've interviewed and not gotten the job. Still, I don't want to be overconfident! For the first time ever, I'm excited for Monday. LOL
I will definitely keep you guys posted!

UPDATE!
The interview went extremely well. They had me do their testing right away and tomorrow morning I have to go sign paperwork for my background check. I think I have it, but I'm not counting it until I get an offer!
I also ran into my old supervisor there and he said he'd put in a good word for me. He's really awesome and I always liked him; I seriously wanted to hug him. Ha ha! He told me he was happy to see me trying for a non-sales position there; it made me so happy to hear that.
So I'm hoping I find out for sure tomorrow. Oh and one of the best things about this job: I WON'T BE ON THE PHONE! YAY!!! :D

It sounds like I will finally know for sure tomorrow. Because I temped there it held up things another day, my temp agency had to "release" me, or something. Anyway, that is done and I should know tomorrow. It's looking pretty positive, I think I have it.
However, if for some reason I don't get it, I got offered a position at another company. I applied through the temp agency, but they make you permanent in 90 days so I'm not even worried about that part of it.
I just wanted to keep you guys posted!

Arrrrgh!!!!
Ok so the temp thing was lifted or whatever, it's not a problem. HOWEVER, the person who actually makes the offer is the recruiter and she is on vacation until the 17th! So I won't know for sure until the 17th and if they tell me yes they will want me to start on the 18th. I already talked to my current supervisor and let him know what's going on. He's very cool and definitely understands. He actually told me due to people's hours being cut, he's gotten 4 notices the last 2 weeks. Mine is the 5th. I have to wait 10 days to know for sure. 10 DAYS! It's ok, I'll get through it but AAAARGH!!! :o

Tell me about it! That was my thoughts exactly! I feel pretty sure I have the job, I really don't think they'd be going through all this if I didn't, but it's frustrating. This is the longest I've ever had to wait to find out about a job. In all honesty, I usually get hired at the interview. LOL
I am sorry this is the only place I'm currently posting. Work has been mad busy, but I hope to get to other topics this weekend. :D

So this didn't turn out the way I expected...
The job I was hoping to get, I didn't get. :( They said it was because of I didn't have some of the experience they were looking for. I'm sad about it, but I do have a backup; I officially accepted the offer for the other place and I start there on 10/8.
I was just shocked when they told me they decided not to hire me. With everything I went through I was sure I had it, also I get almost every job I interview for. However, such is life and at least I still have something full-time! In 90 days I'll finally have my own health insurance so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
I just wanted to let you guys know what happened! :)

That was how I felt too. I could've told the other place that I was going to accept their offer 10 days ago! Makes me really glad I was able to keep it in my pocket for backup. Sheesh! But like my husband said, everything happens for a reason. I'm just happy I'll have a full time job and that in 90 days I'll have insurance. Woot!

The Saga Continues...
I have an interview for another position tomorrow for the company that didn't hire me. One of my friends that works there posted that there's a job fair there on Thursday so I called the recruiter and *BAM!* I got an interview! This position would actually be better than the one I first interviewed for money-wise. There's bonus incentives with this position and I can make quite a bit more than I am right now. Good thing is this week at my current job I'm working full-time hours, so that will help things a lot as well.
So whatever you do, prayer, positive energy, whatever... I can use some! Interview is tomorrow morning!

It is brutal, isn't it? I'm amazed my ulcer hasn't flared again. LOL
So the interview went well, and I'm waiting to hear back. It won't take as long as last time, since all the paperwork, testing and background check is already done. If I don't hear something by tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to call. I'm cautiously optimistic on this one. It's insurance verification which is right up my alley as I've worked for 2 insurance companies and I verify insurance at my current job.

... And the conclusion.
AGAIN, they decided to not hire me. I wasn't really getting my hopes up because of last time but I can't believe I interviewed for them TWICE and they didn't hire me. I rarely interview and not get hired and it happened twice!! It's ok though, I still have a full-time job that I'm starting on Monday. What my goal is, is to supplement my income with selling art. It's going to take time but I will get there!

That's how I felt too. They interviewed me twice and then told me no both times! I find it weird because I interview pretty well and I have experience that this position would require. I mean, even with the first interview they did the background check and everything. I don't know, I don't get it. But at least I have a backup! I now wash my hands of that place, I never had a company do that to me before.
