Hey all,
It's been a while. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I am sorry I've been gone for a long time, I used to be so active here. I see the site got a facelift in my absence!
Well, I hope to see some familiar faces and names (and new ones of course) and I may not be on nearly as often as I once was.
 I missed you guys.
Btw, I'm married now, my band is dead, and Chrono Shift lives. That is all.
-
Hey there. Yeah, I remember you. Been quite a while huh.
-
Welcome back! I've been checking in every so often looking for the Shift updates!
Congrats on getting married, I am doing that this weekend!

I think it's time MrBekkler came around again, eh?

I think it's time MrBekkler came around again, eh?
Good idea!

How'd that happen?! I just summoned my good friend MrBekkler from the Darkness Beyond Time for his annual visit!
How's life, buddy? How's fatherhood? I want to know it all!
-
:)
Honestly I visit from time to time then find myself wanting to respond to something only to realize it's years old when I'm seeing it. Glad I caught this one!
Been doing pretty good, fatherhood is really cool and not as terrifying as I thought it would be when I was in my 20s. Haha. Very rewarding, but my kid's smart which does scare me a little.
My job's stable, hours are flexible when I need and it pays the bills (though I'm definitely not getting rich anytime soon). Wife got laid off from the pandemic but ironically she's making more now from unemployment than she did at work. Luckily we're all healthy but we've mostly been inside for a few months except groceries at first (now we're doing delivery so basically not leaving at all).
Not a lot of free time but I've been trying to squeeze out progress on some creative endeavors. I got the nostalgic Chrono bug again, maybe I'll have stuff to share in the coming months. I see my Nu emoji have stood the test of time, that's pretty cool.
How's your family doing? How are things here?
-
Things here are mostly quiet but consistent. I've remained quite active, although recently I have moved and had a job/career change that has eaten up a lot of my time.
Things are well on the personal front as well -- one of the kiddos is 8, the other 3. The wifey is asking for #3 but I'm holding out; kids are expensive and I don't know if I have the energy for another one, haha. Also, as I said, we moved to a major metro here in the dirty south and own us a little hobby farm we are developing as a side hobby (garden, some animals (right now only chickens, etc). Quite the contrast from the city life I have always craved for!

I just wanted to say hi! I love meeting older members who come back to visit. :) I’ve been here for a couple of years now but I’ve always loved Chrono Trigger. I’m sad that I didn’t discover this place until all these years later! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and that I’m please to meet you. :)
-
Hey, Bekkler, howdy.
The Nu are still going strong, and I hope you are as well!
-
Nice to meet you too, PrincessNadia78! Yeah, Trigger has been my favorite since it came out, and everything else seems to fall short. But things that remind me of it still draw me in all the time anyway. I assume that's a feeling most of us share. Unless they're more of a Chrono Cross fan. Haha!
Howdy Kodokami! Good to metaphorically see another old face.
-
I'm still slowly poking at Chrono Trigger's code.
-
Hey Mauron! Find anything cool in there recently?
-
Eeeeyy. Welcome back tot he party.

I found the meaning of a flag for tech targeting, and found that the code to display the "Att. Tech Item" or "Att. Comb Item" text is largely redundant. Also found a lot of unnecessary pointers and things done 50 different ways.
ASM can get confusing to look at sometimes.
