GIVE IT UP FOR OUR BUDDY FAUSTWOLF! This art is dedicated to him, 'coz where he goes there's all sunshine! :D
The guy likes swords, the guy likes charcoal art, the guy likes Schala. I did my best to mix em up together.
The Music: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/342495
The Story: "Why did the princess bow to fate? Why did she give in her will?
Why did the young prince not speak up? What bound him silent still?
If only he lamented the uncertain, inevitable... if only he stole the light...
The princess would have her will regained to set the wrong to right." -- Yours Truly

Oh sheesh, thanks tushantin. So you shaded it! It's awesome to see Schala in martial regalia -- that is one stylish pauldron. I have a feeling skylark will appreciate this too.
-
Does she train under Uther the Lightbringer of the Silver Hand? :P

:D
*cough*
In all seriousness, not too big on the nose, but other than that, awesome work. :D
-
@FaustWolf: At least, this time, it's Janus who needs saving now. XD

Not sure about Silver Hands, but Uther Pendragon probably needed a new champion to battle Morgause.

Haha, I was actually inspired by HelloBaby's art-style (http://hellobaby.deviantart.com/), and tried to get a similar "feel" there. I guess I need to work more on that.

This is amazing!

I don't think this looks like the style you linked, tush, but the nose is definitely not big.
Are we looking at the same picture, skylark? Did you really feel like the nose was big enough to comment on specifically or were you just nitpicking? Video game and anime characters are allowed to have nostrils. THIS is a big nose:

@RushingWind: Thanks!
@Bekkler: It may not look like it, but I actually tried following the same drawing techniques as HelloBaby compared to my original style (and it was my first attempt, so of course it wouldn't look similar); if we actually compare this one to my previous drawings, you'd probably see a whole world of improvement. xD
Also, I think what Skylark means is that he's not a big fan of the nose I drew. (That said, I quite like Belthasar's aquiline features!)
EDIT: Now that I look at this drawing again, the card at the back looks ugly. :(
-
@tushantin :ah, i can see you attempt to give more detail to your drawing, just like hellobaby's style :D
woow, schala can use a sword? badass schala!!
-
This picture demands... no, it's inspiring a fanfic. I want to read the story of Paladin Schala!
-
Maybe I am just nitpicking.
It's just... I think that nostril is staring at me. >_>... <_<... >_>...
Yeah, I'm a diva when it comes to getting things perfect... As if I was one to talk...
Ignore me! :P
-
To me it is the neck which seems manly enough, or perhaps that is because of the shades below the chin or behind, I'm not sure.
Not bad for your title, though. :P
-
@tushantin: are you going to color this? :D
-
@tushantin: are you going to color this? :D
Actually, it was intended to remain as a Charcoal art. But would you prefer it colored? XD
-
yes, please!! :D
-
I say go for it. I didn't post earlier, but this is pretty awesome, tush! You create beautiful pieces or art, as usual.
-
I can just picture the Janus/Magil meetup with this version of Schala, and the group's reactions to seeing her as a superbadass paladin.
Five bucks says that Glenn starts drooling.
-
Okay I tried to color it (hue change). I'd need to spend more time "natural painting" instead...

Wow, it almost looks like a polaroid of a colored pencil drawing. Neat!
-
I wuvs it.

Oh, a fellow Linux user, hehe. Is that GIMP?

Nah, that's Krita. xD I've been testing the app recently, and I love it!
-
I think I'll be getting it too.

About your colored version, I think you missed coloring the pendant. I thought is was supposed to be blue. Otherwise, I think it looks great.

Nah, the screenshot was only of an incomplete work in the original charcoal sketch. But thanks for posting; I almost forgot about this experiment. Yikes!
