Title: Something long overdue, still a WIP
Post by: Uboa on November 20, 2009, 05:15:06 am
I've been experimenting with mediums for the prospective Tarot card designs, and I think that I have found a good mix.  I've been using watercolor pencils and only black and white acrylic colors.  A "demo" of this combination is below.  :( This was something which I had made mention of previously on the forums, expecting to have it done within a few days.  Well, that was not to be, but I'll give it one more night of work and it should be complete!  Just wanted to post an update on it.

Looks awesome, the only thing I dislike it the coloration around the eye, looks a little bit smudged. But never the less it looks great.

I love the sort of impressionist style this is painted in. I rather like the eyes myself; there's this sort of mysterious intensity to them.

Oh, did I say kickass scythe?

Nicely done overall.

No doubt the fruit of your passionate pursuit for both the fine arts and CT.

Wow, Uboa!  This is awesome!

I agree with Faust--I really like his eyes.

I'm saving this.  ^^

Awesome! I love the hair :D
Which card is it? I'm guessing either Death or the Magician. I recently obtained a beginner's deck as a gift, and I'm quite interested to see how you interpret it.

I decided that my illustration which inspired the Tarot kick will be death, because of the look of resignation he is giving.  This is actually not a part of the Tarot illustrations.  When I finish this tonight, the "theme" of the piece will be quite clear.

And, thank you guys, by the way.  :)  I must say I feel a bit more haphazard than passionate in my pursuits.  (Perhaps I am passionately haphazard?)

Apologies for not being able to finish this sooner, and thank you everybody for all of the praise you've given it.  There will be more to come.  Promise!

Why didn't I notice this before? I need to get out of General board more often. Bravo! Compelling depiction.
