Ok here is the idea.
There is always things that are needed to be done in the world of CTA. Basically the only way to make the animations reach their full potential, is to get fellow friends from right here to help.
There is always something needed to be done and seeing how many people wanted to help with CT: CE, I would hope I could get the same outlook here.
So if you are interested in helping out I am always on the look out for.
1. Background Artists - Please include sample of your art and go to here : http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php/topic,8149.0.html (http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php/topic,8149.0.html)
2. Music Composers - Please include sample of your work
3. Programmers (seasoned in Actionscript 2.0, for Macromedia Flash 8 )
4. Writers
5. Editors
If you are indeed interested in one of the above, just post here or drop me a line in a pm. Thanks
-
I can gladly be a writer for CTA.
-
Its really a co-writer situation. Basically we run down what the plot of the episode is and its really a process of making the right lines go with the right characters.
-
AS 2.0 huh? Well... It looks similar to Java/C++.... I guess I'll look into it. I don't know how to get Flash though... I'm cash-less. AS2 takes about an afternoon to learn if I know Java/C++ right?
Co-writer... well... episode 4 really caught my eye. I'll look into it. And editing wouldn't be bad either -- just depends what editing you've in mind.
-
Editing is all about grammar and that stuff so I guess it is co-writing as well.
-
Ah grammar correction. Sure, I'll lend a hand. I usually giggle whenever I see an error in flash animations.
-
Yes, when I am typing in the text, it is extremely hard to see the errors as you type them and sometimes it's harder to see them when watching the animation. You have so much to look for.
Either way, the people who get the jobs will get early looks and will HAVE TO MAKE SURE that they don't leak ANYTHING.
-
Well, I didn't leak Crimson Echoes despite what was believed at first. I even found a portion of Windows 95's source code the other day and turned it in to authorities when I saw it on Pastebin.
-
Oh I was never implying that by any means if you took it that way. I am just saying that people on NG that have faved me and send me pms every few days asking how its coming would love to get their hands on this.
-
id love to help with editing grammar. i may not look it but i cry when i see an apostrophe placed where it does not belong.
-
Though what I WOULD hope for is a leaked Flash CS so I can get working on this.
-
You would need Macromedia flash 8 as that is the medium I use.
If anything everything will come together on Episode VI since Episode V is already in the midst of progress.
-
i dont have flash. i was hoping your scripts would be in a text file so i could fix them there. that would make me happy.
-
That was my first thought and I plan to do that for those who cant get flash.
As for schala here, well basically schala wants to really get on board apparently.
So we will see.
-
I do have a copy of Flash CS4 but am unable to buy an activation license for it at the moment.
-
Oh I see... YOU HAVE CS4!!
Holy christ!
Well either way if you do want to get hands on there is a lot we could do together.
-
Well, I -have- it..... But I can't -use- it.......
-
I have a working version of Flash(and Photoshop)CS4, but AS3 is far different from AS2, and I never took any classes on AS2. Flash 8 and CS4 aren't compatible, so neither of us would be able to help on that end anyway.
Just what would a background artist's duties entail? Drawing, or piecing maps together with tiles? I can do either one.
-
Co-writer, eh? That's good.
As for grammar, I can be a real grammar Nazi sometimes, so you shouldn't have any problems with me on your writing staff.
As for what lines, that comes with the characters' personalities. I'm usually very quick to recognize such things.
-
@ Zeph: Well Zephira, CS4 can save a version of what it animates for Flash 8 so that users for flash 8 can use it. When it comes to background art it's both.
@Genesis: Hmm that's good especially the character personality thing. We really need help in that area.
-
Just make sure you know the version differences, CS4 has a few tweening options and other new tools that don't work in any older versions. I think Classic and Shape tweens are the only ones you can use.
-
True and I think that those are the only ones i will need.
