In some of my newfound spare time (being in the lull between graduating from college and getting a full time job), I've been working on a few character poses, starting with:
Lucca:
Here is the sketch before coloring (I like to ink by hand on paper first):

And then after coloring:

Next, add a pinch of Marle:

Colored:

Glenn:

Questions, Comments, and Critiques welcome. :D

That's a huge fucking wrench. Pretty decent sketch either way.
-
The coloring job is really interesting, it's got this soft focus feel to it. And that is a BIG wrench.
-
that is a big. ass. wrench. =D

Bigger is better, right? :D
Added some Marle, btw.

I wish MY wrench was that big... that's like a buster-wrench! Why the hell didn't she have that in CT XD.
I don't think wrenches are used enough as improvised weapons in games...

Oh wow, I really like the Marle sketch.
You have a very unique coloring style, by the way...it's really gradient; it's nice.
-
Your use of line thickness and emphasis reminds me of this style (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/dothack/images/c/ca/RebirthZelkova.jpg), and I think its very effective.

There's a bit of pillow shading though. You should avoid it as it makes the lightning inconsistent. See this link for a short description of what pillow shading is: http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html

Thank you. ^_^ Its a mix of experiments and some of the techniques listed in the digital coloring and inking tutorials by Julie Zhuo (http://"http://joulee.deviantart.com/"). The tutorials made coloring far easier!

Ah! I never knew it had a name.Sometimes its hard not to pillow shade while I'm getting carried away. Those pixel tutorials are very nifty, btw.

Whoa! I really like that style. Where is this image from?

Now I think I'll have to draw Lucca with a Buster-wrench, looking emo.
Are there any other uses of wrenches in games aside from the Repo Man in FF6? ...and maybe murder by wrench in Clue?

Your coloring gives a "2D effect" to your art, and I really like it.
Requesting more.

It's Zelkova from .hack//G.U. That is of course just the character art... the games themselves aren't quite as advanced, but they are quite nice and very fun.
There was a wrench in TESIII:Morrowind IIRC.

I love your lineart, and Marle's crossbow.
-
Glenn's my favorite. Although I like that Marl'es pants are friggin' baggy as all heck.

I was gonna mention this m'self--the pillow shading appeared a bit on the Lucca coloring, but it's not unbearable or anything.
The Glenn sketch is pretty good--more people need to sketch him too...

Wow nice !
