Title: New to the forums, big CT fan
Post by: Thacrudd on December 17, 2008, 12:53:25 pm
Hello everyone, glad I could join you here. I've visited this site quite often but just now decided to register. I'm a major Chrono Trigger fan and I will argue with anyone who doesn't say it's the best game of all time. I appreciate everyones contributions here on keeping me up to date with all the juicy details when I just can't get enough CT.

I still have yet to finish Chrono Cross but I'm sure I will at some point. I definately would never bash CC, I'm just having trouble getting into it. (I left off just past the water dragon) As much as I love the CT universe, I really need to finish it to learn more of the storyline.

I'm 24 and have loved the original CT since it came out. I even spent a couple days playing the game to get all the endings just so I can tape them on the good ol' VHS  and watch them whenever I wanted. Too bad YouTube wasn't around back then.

I enjoy most anything tech wise, especially computers and case modding, one of which you will find in my sig. I also built a Mammon Machine themed desk they were kind enough to include in the community art section.

Thank you all for listening to me and I hope to continue contributing to this wonderful community that shares the love of the best game on the planet.

~Seth

I demand photos of the mammon machine desk. Also welcome to the compendium. Avoid conversing with people with user names that end with hadow D Darkman.

Welcome tot he party!

Your VHS recordings show true Chrono-dedication. I made a Chrono Trigger Valentine's Day card box in fifth grade, but I think the VHS tapes will be hard to outdo.

Read my sig for a little advice:
"Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For the wounded man shall say to his assailant, 'If I live, I will kill you; If I die, you are forgiven. Such is the rule of honor." -The Rise and Fall of the Cleveland Mafia: Corn Sugar and Blood

Admins what do you think? Happy?

But no seriously if you like the facepalm emote you may enjoy him Thacrudd. Anyway he's really not that bad just a little annoying. Then again I'm probably out of line.

Come on guys, there's no need for that. Everyones entitled to their opinions of right and wrong. If you wish to flame, please take it elsewhere.

Unfortunately I have no idea where the tape went. I think I lent it to my buddy and it dissappeard into the abyss he called his room. When I was in 7th grade, me and said friend enjoyed making comic books. We actually started a Chrono Trigger comic book using all the lines from the game, but we never got past the Millenial Fair. LOTS of writing down dialogue and lots of work doing it all by hand. But hey, it was worth a shot

Sweet Mammon desk photographs.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. With those side panels I wanted to put my own spin on all the crests around Zeal. If anyone ever comes to hang out I have to warn them about the desk. Don't move too quickly around it or you will get hurt. I've already had one person draw blood from it

That desk is pretty awesome man. I like doing stuff like that too. I'm just no where near as talented as you are at it.

You seem to believe that you need a "talent" to achieve/learn what you want. All you need is imagination and determination (and some cash lol). I had never built or even thought about building a desk before. If you want something bad enough, I'm sure you can do it. You'll never know unless you try, right?

That's where I have problems. I don't like doing things unless I know what I am doing and am comfortable with it. If I am unfamiliar with it I just seem to get really frustrated and just end up getting pissed off. Probably the same reason I still suck at playing guitar.

Hang in there man, I totally know what you're talking about. Believe me, I used to mod/case mod xboxes and I know I've botched 3 xboxes and at least 2 computer cases working on them  Gaspars quote in my sig should say it all. I don't know how into computer you are but come over to Bit-Tech.net and browse around the forums. You may learn a thing or two and hopefully give youself inspiration to aquire what you want. Nothing great ever comes without hard work.

I'm totally into the xbox modding scene. I've pretty much done about as much as I'm going to with my case now tho. I just added the media stream to my XBMC and it looks very professional. If you haven't checked it out you definitely should. Plus it will give you a reason to tinker around with you xbox again. I'd love to get into the computer modding scene, but my pc sucks as it is and I just don't have the kind of money pc gaming requires anymore.

What are you running? I was all into the original xbox but I've never messed with the 360 before other than pot tweaking it. Here's some of my mods:

The red one I cut down to 2.5 inches tall.

Just because you mod a PC doesn't mean it has to have crazy hardware in it :D

Regular Xbox with an Xecuter3, then my 360 has NME v2.0 but you can't run unsigned code on a 360 yet so it kinda sucks in homebrew. Those are some really nice case mods. I don't have any images, but mine is pretty bland compared to yours. I just tried to make mine look like a pure white LE xbox, but since I couldn't find an xbox emblem like that I added and evolutionx one with blue leds.

Jutty - YG PM'd

Sounds way cool! I've always enjoyed taking the things I own and making them unique.

I'm hoping to get started on a Chrono themed oil painting soon. Wish me luck everyone as I"ve never oil painted before....

The best lights are the unnecessary ones. Now make a handheld XBOX with accompanying glowing arm braces!

Anyways, welcome...! I don't know how many Chrono fans are in league with Microsoft, but I've taken a fairly open approach to the recent console wars, myself...Everyone's got something to offer.

Here's a fairly random pic in honor of the fact that I only just recently saw The Dark Knight...

I wonder how Daffy would work with that ridiculously scruffy Batman voice...>_>

I think I saw the desk a while back, but wow!

WHY SO SERIOUS?

That's been overused to the point it has no effect anymore.

I honestly didn't care which part I quoted & what I said...I could have quoted Shadow's last part & said, "No, look at the one I made!", but whatever...After I saw his I had to make that response...It was so natural...! "Why so curious?" has basically been kicking around in my head since I heard about that Joker line...I also could have used the other bitchin Catwoman, Julie Newmar, but I figure an Adam West Batman reference might be too old for you folk...

Thanks. Glad you like them.

@Zeality - Yes, I had submitted it a long time ago and you all were so kind to let me share it :)

@Hypernerd - I tend to get quite lost around here

I just finished a first playthrough on CT:DS. The new dungeons were cool, but A LOT of running around. The only thing that I was unhappy about was the amount of unnecessary dialogue changes. That actually bothered me quite a bit. I mean, why did they remove something as simple as Melchior's "No, don't tell me. I don't think my heart can take it" All of the most memorable quotes have been changed (namely my favorite on in my sig) and I don't think it helped. IF IT ISN'T BROKEN, WHY TRY TO FIX IT?!?! But I'm sure there's another thread for that kind of rant.

Time constraints, censorship of the time...oh, wait, you mean the new, more accurate translation...?
