Title: Chrono trigger SPC/PSX Question
Post by: justin3009 on December 07, 2007, 01:38:44 pm
Would it be possible to import some of the PSX exclusive tracks into the SNES version of CT?  I've gone through the PSX verison of CT a bit and some of the song data is written the same.  There's some bytes here and there that are changed but...Idk

Hmmm, now that is interesting.  I never bothered to even play Anthology, just one of those gams I bought just for collection purposes.  Mind telling me where this stuff is on the disc and I'll take a look?

I had to actually open the ISO with Cygnus to find the stuff.  I'm not sure where it starts or ends...I'd have to relocate bytes and go back to find out.

Edit: The music starts at 1056A2 in the PSX verison of CT (Silence).  Starts off the same 24 00 but ends up going 60 8A instead of F2 8A.

Edit 2: I think Memories of Green starts at 1056C8

Are you sure what you've found isn't just data in the Japanese Chrono Trigger ROM in the PSX version?
The first two bytes after the Japanese version's Silence length header are 60 8A.

Could be possible.  I really don't know.

Correct, it's the Japanese version data.  The extra songs are stored elsewhere.

Well my DVDRW drive died so I can't look on my disc for it.

CT uses a new format for music (same used in FF6 Psx), so you'd need to reconvert it into the original encoding and import it into the snes rom. Easier said than done. :p
