when you go out of frogs house in 600 sometimes a nu is here and tells u to stop.does this mean something?i am sorry if there is another topic on this but i havent seen it.and sorry for writing this so fast but i have something important to do.
-
Is all he says stop? Hmm I wonder what he means...Stop bothering him? Stop killing his froggy friends? Stop looking for significance where there is none? Hmm I wonder if the Nu is really a spy for the mystics, and he doesn't want you to find Frog because...plot..point...Oh I lost it.

Sometimes you can also fight him(not sure what you have to do exactly)
-
If you bump into an enemy close enough to him for him to not be able to run off the screen before the battle begins, he should get drawn into the battle (I say 'should' because I've only encountered him a few times, so it could just as easily be random).
-
I've only ever seen the Nu for a second, never even got close to getting bumped into it or to talk for it for that matter.
-
Stop it you dog!
He kind of freaks me out actually. I got scared when I first found him cause I didn't see him and didn't know I hit anything. He also moves funny...
-
You have to be really fast, and good at avoiding enemies. I've fought it quiet a few times.
-
I suppose it is possible to get the mop out of him right?
-
I have a hard time getting lucky enough for him to appear randomly in that forest. He's only shown up for me maybe 4 times of all the times I've been in the forest.
-
When I first saw him, I thought that he was gonna be some important plot device later on because you don't see that many Nu around outside of Zeal. If anything, perhaps he's from Zeal and recognizes Crono from there and is so surprised that the first thing that comes out of his mouth is telling him to go away. That's my theory anyway.
-
Except that they would have seen that Nu before going to Zeal.
I think you have to go after Magus's Castle for that Nu to come out frequently. I could easily be wrong, however.
-
I would not been suprised if that Nu somehow knew something... Nu's are very very strange creatures... very intriguing.
Here's another idea, maybe it was searching for Janus...

... why on earth would he be doing that?

The generally accepted idea is that the Nus liked hanging around Zeal, though that's not where they're from because I think I recall seeing one somewhere in 65,000,000 BC.
-
No, I mean I understand that Nu's were rather popular in Zeal. However, unless I missed something, I don't think the Nu's chose what time the lived in. So preference doesn;t really come into it. I just don't see why a Nu would be looking for Janus in some random woods thousands of years after he disappeared, and also important to note anyone who might have known Janus disappeared in a time warp were either evil, thrown into time themselves, or killed when Zeal was destoyed.
-
ah, but you're forgetting that one Nu who apparently survived the disaster. He sold various items and weapons in the last remaining village after Zeal went down.
-
Yeah Zealians did survive, I was just talking about that anyone in the know about Janus and his being sucked into a portal would have been killed, transported, or evil and disconnected from everything else.
-
Hmm, you've got a point there.
-
The Nu near Frog's house could be attracted to the energy emmitted from the piece of the Masamune.
-

Yes...
He has a mop (use charm) which is kind of useless as a weapon but oh well.... ^_^
-
i've encoutered it 5 times from the times i was in frogs forest.i think he only appears after you get the hero medal and stays there untill you go to magus castle.anyway maybe its just something the programmers left so they makes nu's mystery bigger kinda
-

Actually, I've got a save right before the final battle, and he's *still* there. I'll check some time later if he appears before you get the hero medal.
-
He's always there, it seems. Regardless of the time you apporoach him, no special event, just an optional battle you can fight whenever you want.
