Is Webchat not working?  I left it on the page for 5 hours, and it never loaded.  Tried in Fire Fox and Chrome.  I'm I just an ID10T?

Yeah, the problem is that no one is ever on. Perhaps more people will join after the IRC dies? But then again, Ramsus promised to link the new channel to the main page... Hard to say. I think I'd like if more ppl were on. We'll see what happens after the current IRC channel goes away.

When you log on and see that no one is on, how long do you hang around for someone else to log in? I've seen Webchat quite busy a few times, but it seems like people just pop in for a second before getting impatient and leaving.
And you have to remember, it took a week or so for IRC to pick up any decent amount of activity after that 3 person limit was removed. Just give it time and have some patience.

If it makes any difference, I'm in there right now (though I might leave to watch a movie).

I think the webchat just broke. I got a bunch of bad server responses, so I exited the tab and hit the Webchat link again, and got this:

Generally I wait for a good 1-2 hours. Patience is a virtue. But then I get mad :P

IRC is working fine though. At least it will be till it gets removed and OH MY GOD WEBCHAT ISN'T WORKING WE'LL HAVE NOTHING. ;_'

Yeah, this happens frequently on the IRC too. Apparently, 1 minute of no activity = "no-one ever talks here".

I don't know.  The Webchat seems to be be working fine from my end.

But then again, I always go for the most updated version of my browser.

IRC seems to be working fine as well... for the time being, anyways.  Just waiting for Webchat to become more practical to use.

I happen to agree with this question.

The IRC and the Webchat existed recently in the past, buuuuuut.... I dont know what happened either.

Actually, ircdotnet.net isn't much of a compendium knock-off anymore. Aside from Teaflower, Laith, and SDD being present, the only similarity is in the notice that pops up saying it's fanmade. It's more of a social channel for tea's friends from elsewhere.

As alternatives, you could try MSN and AIM group chats, as quite a few Compendiumites use those. There's also Saturday night poker, which has a chatroom.

i want the webchat to come back. i dont hang out in the irc much anymore because its, as zephira said, not the same. i miss us talking and i really want to try that thing out. now that firefox is doing nicely, i can try it.

I have to agree.

Talking in IRC is better because it's live, thus giving instant feedback to projects and fan submissions.
