Title: In the words of Scorpion...
Post by: Sigma Head on December 19, 2008, 11:20:39 pm
WELCOME.

That is, if you've watched the Mortal Kombat movie before.

In either case, I'm new to these here forums and wanted to say YO. I've been a Chrono fan since the game first came out on the SNES, and still to this day. Besides that, I'm also a big Megaman fan.....as if you couldn't tell.

I own a couple of Chrono-related items, such as the original soundtrack that I imported after the game's release. Does anyone remember the Chrono Cross clock that came out? I own that too. I even snagged those little Cross key chains by Banpresto. I had to get it because they made a Harle key chain. Harle's awesome. I've been collecting crap ever since I was a kid, and since I've reach adulthood....it's gotten worse.

Welcome tot he party! I love that Sigma-Lavos hybrid, it's actually believable considering Sigma's final form in Megaman X.

Thanks!

Sigma's head attaching itself to a huge battle body is pretty much EVERY single Megaman X end boss, save for Megaman X8. The addition of Sigma's head to anything makes it 10x stronger, and the addition of Schala to anything causes the universe to end. The combination of the two? UNSTOPPABLE.

Though I honestly couldn't stop laughing when I made that. I was in hysterics for about an hour.

<Insert Lavos Scream Here>

Now to work on fusing Sigma onto the other two forms, since DD Siggy counts as both DD and Lavos 1.

I was expecting "Toasty!" or maybe "Get over here!" (though I guess contextually they don't work?)...but "Welcome"...sounds a little out of character for Mr. Spike-Throwing-Ghost-Rider-Wannabe...>_>

He says "WELCOME!" when he warps Johnny Cage and himself to his hellish lair after the scuffle in the woods, IIRC.  And Ghost Rider is a bitch.

I heard Cage-VS-Scorpion took place somewhere in Outworld.

And before you ask, yes, I did watch the movie. Again, I HEARD the rumor.

Unfortunately, I, like most sane people, don't care about the crappy movies, crappy television series, or the MK series after 2, really...

And Ghost Rider was the shit...though he too suffered a god-awful movie...V_V But a bitch? Tell it to the Fantastic Four that was pure win...!

Nuff said, indeed, Wolvie.

The movie wasn't that crappy...probably the best video game to movie adaption out there.  And MKIII was OK too.  I have fond memories of all three original games, especially the first one and getting that on Christmas...ooo yea.  Those were the days...

Also, F4 is gay.  And when comparing movies, Mortal Kombat > Both F4 live action movies combined.

Liu Kang never throws a fireball=Lame.

And there are a few video game to movies that are fine...though they're are anime.

Did they make a movie about teh awesome Fantastic Four I mentioned? No, they did not. Combine the suck-factor of all of the MK movies & the television series and you're far below the crapfest that even the Ghost Rider movie was.

He does so, as a matter of fact.  It is how he deals the final blow to Shang Tsung.  Granted it isn't a fireball per se, but when Kang's hands come into contact with Mr. Tsung's chest, there is a fireball-esque effect that blows him away, down to the spike pit below.

It isn't thrown. His hands glow...whoopty doo.

Meh, It came out way back in '95 or there abouts...it was good enough for the day.  You are just spoiled with all of the new snazzy special effects of today.

I saw it back then & knew it for the cheap cop-out that it was. If they couldn't do it right, they shouldn't have done it at all. Was it even rated R? No, of course not, a video game movie has to be targeted at kids, right? Retarded. It was a series made popular by excessive amounts of violence & blood. The movie should have reflected that.

At least you could laugh at MK. I mean, Goro was hysterical. His entrance when he fights Art was just gold. You have all of that hard rock music going and he's just standing there screaming his ass off. It easily lasts for a good thirty-forty seconds. The same goes for Aussie Kano. "Good boy. She's here. Right on time." I was laughing so hard when I watched it as a kid, lemme tells ya.

My life has been plagued by crappy movies. Roger Corman's Fantastic Four, anyone?

Only good video game movie I've ever seen was Pokemon(first one)and it wasn't live action.
Although you could easily come up with a number of ways to pull it off...
Me and my friends came up with a great idea to pull a Batman on it(going from Batman & Robin to Batman Begins, kiddie to dark).

Also, Mortal Kombat seemed a lot like Power Rangers the way it was done, except they actually looked like they could tear you apart. Sadly, they only tore people apart metaphorically, not literally.

I thought Batman Forever (despite the fact that I never saw it) was kinda lame. Carrey as the Riddler was seriously fucked up.

Honestly...

Shao Khan, if I recall. Lord of Outworld or something.

You've never even seen it, how the hell can you say its lame?

Batman Forever wasn't too bad, really.  batman and robin on the other hand...well let's just say I'm not going to even capitalize that title.

The Mortal Kombat movie didn't need blood and guts, the games did that just fine and quite frankly I am sick of that shit anyway.  It was a bit like Power Rangers though but a few notches down on the corny scale.

Meh, B&R was good, but not as good as I'd like.

Batman Begins/The Dark Knight... Holy shit. Those were worth swallowing my pride and going to the theater.

Batman Forever & Batman & Robin were both horrible...in fact, Batman Return's only saving grace was Michelle Pfeiffer's sexiful portrayal of Catwoman...Val really began to kill it for me...Bruce Wayne isn't a blonde! They just made the series way too campy (what is this? Adam West's Batman?) & the villains way too irrelevant...They tried to pack in too much so they could make all of their little toys & movie tie-ins...and everything suffered for it.

I think Tommy Lee did bad as Two-Face. If it's not his fault, it's the director's.

Good GOD, no!

Adam West as Batman...

Adam West's Batman was fine in that it was pure camp that really wasn't trying to be Batman at all, really...or if it was, it was that stupid period of comics around the time the Comic's Code came into place and everyone needed a ridiculous teenage sidekick (enter: Robin). That's really about when West's version came out anyways...

If we're talking quality Batman movies, I suggest everyone look up a fan film titled "Dead End." Just search it on Youtube. You'll find it quickly.

I was just thinking of "Dead End". It's a very well executed film, I enjoyed it.
