So, after over a year of thinking I hated Cross because it failed in my eyes to Chrono Trigger, I picked it up. I was playing and playing and I realized I liked Chrono Cross. I had just been bitter with it since I lost my place the first time after an unexpected break.
See, this would be great, I could still be happily playing it, just there's a problem; Cross doesn't work on PS3 without freezing when you use elements every now and again. So, sadly I must set it down for now in annoyance. Atleast this time I set it down remember its a good game!

How can you "thinking you hated" something with out ever trying it? anyway glad to see you tried it, and liked it even. I take it emulations out of the question?

Yeah I'd have to agree with Kebrel, it is a good game, just don't go playing it thinking it's Chrono Trigger 2 (Under this assumption you'll surely be disappointed :wink: )
On the side note, assuming you're considering emulation, I'd recommend pSX for this one as it runs perfectly on it with no plugin configuration. 8) (Of course it won't have the potential of looking as pretty as epsxe, as of yet, but not much can beat the simplicity formula it carries. :P )

Yeah, Chrono Cross is a game that demands the player's full attention...You can't put it away for a month or play three other games at the same time or anything. If you're gonna play CC, then you'd better be ready to PLAY CC.

I did play it, but as V_Translanka said, I made the mistake of putting it away...

While I'm all for using that image when the situation demands...I don't think it's necessary when someone just says they didn't like CC as much as CT, which is basically what's said in the first post...I mean, there's no mention of how successful CC was compared to CT nor it's popularity. So, in closing, I think ZeaLitY sometimes jumps the gun as much as those CT fans who irreverently bash CC...

I just don't want all that friction in the Chrono community. We're practically a dying breed! We should be fighting with those damn FF fans, not ourselves (though I suppose in many cases that is ourselves)! Is that too much to ask?! But w/e...

If by fit you mean slowly getting more and more tainted by Japanese pop culture, like big hair on guys and stereotypical female characters, then yes, FF is very fit.

What can you do Nippon is still a *very* chauvinistic society. Personally I liked Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy for *very* different because they are.. *surprise*... *very* different reasons; they will never replace each other. But, if you must attack Final Fantasy I recommend the "Monkey Steals the Peach" move:

Anyway....Chrono Cross is very critically acclaimed as well. 9.7 on IGN, 10 on Gamespot (one of only 4 games), Famitsu gave it 36, and EGM gave it 10/10/9.5.
