That's right. In case some of you don't know, Apogee made the original Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem 2. And was 3D Realms former name. Now they have resurrected back into a separate company:
Correction: 3DR has nothing to do with the new Apogee, other than helping to set it up -- but no management role at all. It's a real rebirth, and has access to several original Apogee brands/titles.
And for their first release, a Duke Nukem Triology for the DS and PSP.
Features include:
* 9 Different World Locations
* 36 Action-Packed Levels
* 3D Accelerated Graphics
* 3D Characters with Detailed Textures
* Real-Time Particle and Lighting Effects
* Multi-Mode Play with up to 5 Different Styles of Game Play Action
* Multi-Player Action
* Total Ass-Kicking Weapons
And I don't think it's a remake of the first three, but new games.
Apogee is bringing the King of Action himself, Duke Nukem, to the handheld console market with three new missions, together called the Duke Nukem Trilogy™. Apogee Software is producing the Trilogy under an exclusive license agreement with 3D Realms and MachineWorks Northwest LLC. The Trilogy is comprised of three episodes: Critical Mass™, Chain Reaction™, and Proving Grounds™, with an engaging storyline that spans all three games. The episodes will being released sequentially, beginning in the summer of 2009.
EDIT: After reading that more...I'm still not sure if it's remakes/ports with new episodes, or completely new games...

If it a chance to get Raptor back I good.
-
Nice; I remember seeing their logo while playing Duke Nukem 2. Hope this gets Forever out faster.
I mean, it won't for numerous reasons, but...
-
I have a chance to join the 3D Realms team. My teacher sent in a portfolio of my 3D work and they want to interview me in Texas.
Once in a lifetime chance. I'm not going to take it, I'd have to move to Texas, I prefer to stay in California.
-
I'd take it......
Anyways, if any of you haven't seen this yet, and like Forever, you should watch this: http://crackle.com/c/Jace_Hall#id=2298717&ml=o%3D12%26fpl%3D297045%26fx%3D
It shows some ACTUAL game play. And it's been about, 7 years since the last trailer? But you're going to have to wait a while, i think it's closer to the end of the video.
EDIT: It's around 2:40 where it starts, just in case it doesn't land on the right episode, it's episode 1.

I'd take it......
I'm 18 years old. I'd need an assload of money to buy a house/apartment. It's just not reasonable at my age.
-
So yeah...the video ZeaLitY, if you haven't seen it already.
-
Shit, I can't fucking wait for this game.
Fuck this, I'm replying to that email. Hopefully I'll get to play it first. :P
-
I can't wait either....it's been...A LONG time Duke fans have been waiting, since 1998.

Y'see, game companys give you money, some of which you can use towards renting an apartment. I understand your reluctance to give up California to go to Texas, but it's not like they'd expect you to work for free.

Wicked... It almost looked like a Half-Life game though... It had a very similar HUD interface, and I swear some of those little bouncy enemies were headcrabs.
Man... It's crazy to think that Duke Nukem Forever is actually real...
-
I know, I'm surprised too. I hope it'll be out by next year, because they're release another game next year, Earth No More.
-
I really can't wait for this.
Next-Gen Balls of Steel for the masses!
-
LOL.
But 3D Realms still owns the rights to all those games, this new resurrection of Apogee is separate from 3D Realms now. So they would have to have some sort of agreement, that's what they did for the new Duke Nukem Trilogy. I want to see a remake of Rise of the Triads....
