Welcome tot he party.
Welcome tot he party.
You know you can stop writing that if you're not comfortable with it, right? Nobody will blame you, I promise.
It took me like half year to throw myself into the register option. People like me, a lot i guess.
Kicks are referred to as "sit-downs" in my neck of the wood.Never HEARD of that term before... oh, well. As long as you understand what I mean.
Good point... plus, I need to stop taking Guile everywhere I go. What REALLY hurt my first time through was when you go see the Dragoons in the bar and Guile is hiding back there. He says he can't go with you and I cry inside. This is vary interesting, the way you type is vary close to the way I speak in person. I have never in my life seen it in writing before, its quite fascinating to say the least. I never try and think about what I say when talking, its never as pure when one does that, but when typing I am forced to analyze what and how to say what I am saying.
Although, Chrono is keeping me from... Chrono! I HAPPEN to be at the Undersea Palace in Chrono Trigger and guess what my Dream Splash thing is about? Yeah, I'm wonderously stuck. And everytime I boot up the emulator, I say, 'My story doesn't have it happen like that! AAAAAAGH! *sobangstweep* Oh, well. Let's play Chrono Trigger!' It's frustrating for me. And I've picked up the Earthbound ROM... and I so terribly want to play Soul Calibur... ANGRIFYING!!!
... plus, I haven't really felt like writing lately...

SCHALA APPEARS!! :lee: She wasn't in Chrono Cross after all; the blonde hair and lack of Magus should have given that character away as an imposter.
And yeah...CC totally butchered Schala. ;_;
Yeah... Anyone who has anything bad to say about Schala's appearance in Chrono Cross, obviously didn't get the point of the whole story and really needs to play the game again.
Either that or grow out of love of a bunch of fictional characters that not even Square Enix cares about anymore!!
Oh and welcome 'Schala'.
Chrono Fan 1: It was dye! Blue hair dye, I say!!
Chrono Fan 2: No, you fool! Lavos clearly sucked the blue out of her hair!
*fist fight breaks out*
Hiya.
I'm new.
I'm a former lurker who finally buckled down and started an account.
Been watching Chrono Compendium for a long time -- I mean, I can easily recall the OOOOOOOLD formatting...
Anywho, I'm here. Finally.
Teeps, eh? Well, doesn't that beat all? BoF3 was the fucking shit...I wish I hadn't traded my copy in back then...FFT is the only traded in game I've managed to salvage...V_V
But, anyways, yeah...it's really sad that so much of the Compendium's upper crust have gone on to do...w/e it is they're doing...But the Chrono Community will continue to thrive regardless!
Bloody hell. I HATE when I'm late on the welcome wagon. Hiya, Teeps! Hope you enjoy yourself here. Um... I'd offer you a cookie, but they're all gone. *hides empty Girl Scout cookie box* ... I have a nasty sweet tooth, btw.
One can only go so far with a series, before it gets dull, with just 3 games to analyze and discuss. 3 games where a good many things are speculation or best guess...
One can only go so far with a series, before it gets dull, with just 3 games to analyze and discuss. 3 games where a good many things are speculation or best guess...
Ah, but that is the most fun! With so much that is speculation and guesswork, the mind can roam free and find wonderfully clever connections. We aren't just building a house of cards, we're building a cathedral of cards!
Nope, I've only played BoF1-3 and I think they kept getting better & better.
I've only touched BoF4 so far, but I plan to get my hands on 1-3 and 5 as well.... I enjoyed 4 a lot
As for FFXI, it was an ok game. I bought it when it came out, played it for a couple weeks then stopped completely, then about a year later I started again and my game time was about 31 days, so a month of my entire life was spent on that game...not near as much as some others who has a couple years to it. I do not enjoy the time and effort that needs to be put forth for an MMORPG...it is just too much. I prefer a nice quality single player game, always. FFXI was my first and last online game. Fun while it lasted but not something I will get in to.
I'm sorry, I really don't mean to insult your love for Wii here, but what is the difference between that and the other consoles (Besides the controller)? Wii's collection of games is just as lacking (if not more) in gameplay than the other consoles (all of which have a pretty crappy collection of games). I don't see much potential in any area of the gaming industry right now (besides the DS). Honestly, who can deny that the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era started off with a WAY bigger collection of quality games than this generation of consoles? I think they were in too much of a rush to produce some eye candy and get it on the shelves as quickly as possible than focusing on what it was all supposed to be about - GAMEPLAY and VARIATION.
Obviously, this is just my opinion, though. -_-
Probably should go back farther than PS2/Xbox/Gamecube, as thsoe were crap too, for the most part.
Probably should go back farther than PS2/Xbox/Gamecube, as thsoe were crap too, for the most part.
SD3 is mainly hard because of the randomness of the final class change & equip...damn, just thinking about that pisses me off and I really liked SD3 otherwise, too...V_V
Yea I liked it better than 2(Secret of Mana).
That's exactly what I thought... I didn't feel anything for any of the characters since there were six and you pretty much chose who you played as. Sure, the storylines changed according to the characters present, but it just wasn't enough for me to invest any emotions into.
But I suppose I just never liked games where the characters were so unimportant to the story that they could be replaced with such ease. Still, 3 was good in that some parts of the plot did change depending on who you selected to be in your party.
Yeah, but the characters in SD2 weren't really developed very much at all...I mean, at least in SD3 they all had their little quests and actually had some character development... Have you tried Sword of Mana on the gba; interested as to your opinions...
Plus, I don't trust any man named "Randy"...>_<
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom - '90No love for Romancing SaGa 2('93), V?!
Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium - '93 (though, admittedly late in '93)
Final Fantasy IV - '91
Final Fantasy V - '92
Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (lots of Doom back then, eh?) - '93
I think all of those games (possibly more...I'd have to look through more release dates) did better than Seiken Densetsu II at developing the characters (not entirely sure on PSIII though since I haven't gotten that far in it though). *shrugs*
and my PS2 is permanently out of condition to play PS2 gameI recently got one of the new slims; better longevity, less annoying glitches, and isn't, naturally, so massive.
Phantasy Star IV was a great game. Never finished it tho...I enjoyed the guild aspect with the different jobs you could undertake

Man, did that game (Phantasy Star IV) have some weird names for spells though.
Hi...I just joined a bit back (5 minutes ago).
I just joined mostly for help. I'm doing a ROM hack for CT (using it's engine to make a brand new game, as well as palette swapping characters [try palette 192 for Magus, it's pretty sweet]), and I need some help with it. I have played both games but never got around to beating CC because I lost my second disc and I was to lazy to find a ROM. :(
I'm doing a ROM hack for CT (using it's engine to make a brand new game [...])Chronoverse?
Chronoverse?
My hopes lean to the former.
Chronoverse?
Wow, I didn't even think about THAT.
So yeah, I wonder if it is going to be a new CHRONO RPG or just a new RPG of.... W/E.
I believe it's up to you...I suggest not doing both. >_> Good times...
I'm a casual lurker who's decided to join the forums so I can voice my excitement for the NDS version AND my disappointment that CT won't get the special treatment that the FF series are getting (3D remake). :(
Time's Scar is the song that plays during the opening FMV. It's an awesome song. (if you listen hard enough, you can actually hear the flutist taking a breath, which makes it just that much more awesome)
and I'm jessmanboo22's brother
you don't need to double/triple post, you know.
there is a quick edit function, rather than post a new reply.
Welcome to the Compendium! It's fun here! GET INVOLVED!
and I'm jessmanboo22's brother
Who is heck is that? >_>
Uh, um...welcome anyways!
totally rude, dude!
lol its ok
Don't take it personally, you just happen to have one of the most generic Chrono avatars available (though I guess that's just one of the defaults or something)...:lol:yeah it is i dont really have anything else to use :P
I associate "The Entity Did It" avatar with Thought. I demand you take it down Macster. You are causing mass confusion.
I'll probably be on Shishio for a while...
With unfamiliar pictures, I check the username. However, mostly it's an instantaneous thing. Black Mage = Translanka. Grimjow (or however you spell it) usually = ZeaLitY. Utena and Anthy = teaflower.
Awww... not pug puppy...
Welcome! In case you wonder why that has to be a not-pug puppy, I get upset when the adorable pug puppy is eaten by the Alfador. It hurts my soul.
Hmm... Now I'm confused whether you've been on the forums before.
GlitterBerri? That sounds really familiar... Have I seen you on YouTube or something? Hm...
ANYWAY
Nice introduction, welcome to the forums~!
Hello everybody. Just felt like introducing myself. I'm new here.^^(http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y125/FouCapitan/ozzie.png)
Hiya newfish! Welcome tot he party!
If Serge had a wolf, do you think the panthers would have been too scared to try and eat him?
Thanks. I'll prepare myself accordingly. :)
You know, with all these replies, I noticed something.
I'm assuming the intentional misspelling of 'tot he party' is some sort of inside joke I'm not aware of? (Too lazy to search the entire boards atm.) :P
By the way, I suck at introductory posts =\
Hello. My name is Liza. I come from TEH USSR... but I've been living in California for quite some time now. I spent a year and a half in Japan teaching English and I really enjoyed it.Добро пожаловать, Лиза! Приятно мне читать, что у нас приехал русском или украйнском члену. :D
Or maybe you're tired of this global warming and want to go to a place where it hits negative temperatures a significant part of the year. hehe.Oh, trust me - I live in Canada so negative temperatures aren't a problem, LoL.
I like your avatar Jeff.
Hello There.
Damn taiga climate.....Couldn't have said it better)))
Greetings from Siberia, guys! It is not that cold here as you obviously think.^_^
My name is Ksenia and I'm Russian. I'm a huge fan of all the Chrono series (never bought any legal copy of SE games though, but who cares?) Chrono games can bring a wonderful feeling of inspiration, that's why I love them so much!
This day Compendium is very lucky to get three new member in just one day.
Welcome to the Compendium and have fun !
I agree with you , gotta love the Frog ! But stay away from French restaurant, they got Frog soup........
Just kid , French people sure love Frog, and even eat them ! Are you French ?
Good luck with RPying, don't forget Temporal Odyssey! Temporal Knight would love to see more people joining the project. The more the merrier!
Hi everyone! New here after I got the link from a friend of mine. Recently got into the Chrono series again and especially after seeing videos of Crimson Echoes. Anyways I plan on spending quite a bit of time here. :P I was going to be undergoing a little RP Project soon enough but yeah.
Nice to meet everyone!
Yes, Frog does kick Magus' ass. Every Monday.
P.S. Every day is Monday.
wait theres an rp section? i'll be investigating that more.
Yeah, there's getting to be a lot of us. Maybe we ought to have a poll to see which of us three (four? lost count) is the real Schala.
Since this: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php/topic,6631.msg165676.html#msg165676
I have picture proof, more evidence than the other princesses :D
I appreciate the gentleman comment. I'm not called a gentleman that often, seeing as I'm a girl, but hey--why not? I'll accept the title. XD:picardno at me.
:picardno at me.
terribly sorry, but the male to female ratio here is like 8:1 so i assumed...
im such a moron. :(
A large trout would hurt a lot.exactly.
In fact, there are hundreds of reasons why women should love the Chrono games! (200+ of those reasons are in my avatar!)
Women! Womeeeeen!
(insert image of the Muppet known as Animal, playing drums and watching beach babes to the song 'Whipout!', as seen around 1:15 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke4sioh8tBw)
Oh, I'm definitely going to stick around! I'm too much in love with the series to pass up on leaving.
I can definitely see the zombie kid saying "I like goils". Maybe dress him up as Zombor instead.

WELCOME SECRET SKELETON.
(from another married guy, but minus the kids)
I have been visiting Chrono Compendium for a rather long time and have just now decided I should participate to some degree.
Everyone has at least one superpower.
You should have children, we need more able and intelligent people in the world. Additionally, what better proof of one's existence is there but to reproduce?
My episodic memory is exceptional. I am able to develop relationships between my memories to best recall them by remembering a single memory which then brings forth others. I remember things by association, like I remember that when I first bought Chrono Trigger I had a friend named Alex. With that expression, I can therefore recall other things, such as the discussions Alex and I had about the meanings of the game...and our conclusions we came to.
Oddly, I cannot remember dates well. I cannot say, "I remember in 1995 I bought Chrono Trigger." I would have to look the year up, I just remember, "I bought Chrono Trigger the year it came out." I can then remember many things from that period of time, but for some reason I never associate it with the numerical date.
I also pride myself on my creativity. I run a Dungeons & Dragons 1E game on Sundays, and I honestly feel flattered by the praise I receive from my players. I know how to tell a story, I can honestly say that.
I can also reverse-engineer almost anything. If I play with something long enough, I can figure it out.
I would like to help someone on a fan game as a producer. I can put together a project and stay with it.
Also, I am not being snide, but there is no such thing as audiographic memory. Photographic--or eidetic memory, encompasses sounds as well as pictures. So, there you go, you can say eidetic memory. Also, you don't have to call it "near" photographic, you just don't call it "literal" photographic. That's the difference.
Nice French there, Saj.
Bienvenue Sylvhem! Je parle un peu français. J'adore la (le?) Compendium et j'espère tu l'aime aussi. :DBien sûr que j'aime le Compendium ! Tu parles très bien français Saj :D.
Welcome to the forum, TMC. I'm sure you'll love it here as much as the French community does their forum. Thanks Genesis.
(BTW: What are you favorite movie genres and personal favorites?)
How long have they been around for?Sorry, but I am not certain of question's meaning. There is a topic (http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php/topic,8197.0.html) about our community.
This may be your first stop as a new member of the Chrono Compendium. I personally extend my welcome, and hope that your time here is enjoyable and enlightening. Feel free to introduce yourself!
Hi there! I'm new here and I'm a :franky SUUUUUUPPPPPPPAAAAA!! Chrono Trigger fan.Welcome, SUUUUUUPPPPPPPAAAAA soldier.
Hi! My name is Ross, and I am a gamer, and have been for almost 25 years. In that time one of my favorite games came out in 1995. In the fifteen years since the release of Chrono Trigger, I've probably beaten that game 100+ times. I own it for SNES, Playstation, Nintendo DS and I eagerly await a PS3 remake. Even more than that I search the Chrono Compendium on a regular basis for anything Chrono related. I also played Chrono Cross quite a bit as well. I've also had a few looks at a lot of the Chrono Fan Projects. Anyway, I just wrote to introduce myself, and hopefully share in a love of gaming that I've had over 2 decades.
Wow, this is freaky, I just got the "0 post account purge" notification in my email, and just two days ago I started replaying Chrono Cross for the first time in at least SIX YEARS. How's that for coincidences?
It's amazing how many random tiny background things I'm noticing that I completely missed before; like various things on the walls that I never thought to examine, talking to the dog outside the smithy with Poshul and Leena on the first arrival to Termina (I think I always wound up with Kid in my party by the time I went that way). Also it's so much nicer now that I have a way better computer, back when I emulated it before my computer could barely run it.
Hello, I'm one of those unlucky European lot that didn't get the Chrono games way back when :(
I ended up playing Trigger by emulation at first then jumping for joy when the DS version was released.
I think I found your site before I found the Compendium, which would be like 5 years ago when I was new to the world of Chrono Trigger. WELCOME TO THE PARTY
No, Sorry, Boo, My first language is spanish, I'm from Mexico. I speak very very very little Japanese(I have forgotten almost all of it), but nothing else :) are you from Germany?
I've been known around as Marle for several years, even running the marle.chronotrigger.com site... which I am slowly working on rebuilding cause I've had lots of awesome people email me asking to start it up again so... I'm remembering webdesign ^_^;;
...Carl with an M.
...Carl with an M.
I thought that is how her named is pronounced. At least, that's how it sounds when Hiro from "Heroes" and the kilwala from "Nūmamonjā" say it.
Well hello there. I am the Bard_of_Time, and hopefully we will all be able to get along. Umm... I've been lurking for a while, and I really like this community, so... yeah...

Holy crap, there's actually a topic where you can introduce yourself? Wow, I've spent the past week or so raking the whole site and I didn't spot this until just now. :picardno
I also just arrived after having replayed Chrono Trigger and I had a thirst for more Chrono goodness.
Sorry for eventual mistakes in my English...No probs! Make yourselves at home and feel free to communicate the way you feel comfortable. Just beware of Lord J, our favorite Grammar Nazi. XD
Howdy, Justin! Welcome aboard (YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED)!
Looks like we share a lotta stuff in common (HUZZAH, NEW AGE MUSIC!), and I think we have another sword collector here. :lee:
I also love swords(battle ready functional ones) and am going to be collecting many types soon.
Welcome back, Teenage Mutant... um... Cat!
Never knew ya. But here's hoping I do! Plus, having someone from Netherlands is rad! 8)

I joined yesterday and I just noticed this topic, so Hello everyone!
Hello~
Nice to meet everyone! I just remade my account. I used to hop around here maybe... 2005-2006 ish? Anyway, I just got my mitts on a copy of Chrono Cross Ultimania and plan on translating the whole thing for practice... I know some of the material is needed here so I'll post it, if it's okay....as I do it. And stuff. I guess.
Hello, Breakfast! (Milk, Jam and Juice are ingredients in a healthy breakfast for me) Welcome again to the... er, nearly deserted... forums! (Sheesh, this place used to be FUN before, butishouldstoprantingalready) What was your old account, anyway?
Translating the CC Ultimania would be heavenly! I think ZeaLitY would appreciate that too.
Hello,
I am Windmaedchen and I joined just a few minutes ago. Finally really. I have been lurking around here for quite some time, ever since that crazy (fantastic) boyfriend of mine, who you know under the name of "Tushantin" linked me to various posts and threads several times daily since February 2012. This forum and everyone in it have made quite an impression on him in several ways. :D <-- This Nu Smilie looks quite creepy, to be honest. xD
I am glad I finally have a "real" and good reason to join this Forum, too.
I have finished playing the DS version of Chrono Trigger a few weeks ago and quite love it. I am not really a loud voice myself, so I will more read in silence and soak up everything about CT here at the Compendium and this forum. And contribute every now and then to the various discussions that are going on.
I hope to have a good time and am looking forward to getting to know you all better. :)
My boyfriend at the time always got mad at me for playing it in bed XD
Hello hello! I'm Caitlin, and I'm new here :) Looking forward to posting!Welcome, Cait! And what a bizarre moment; you've got a name I've held a favourite all these years!

Hi everyone, I'm Yoon! After a long time lurking the forums, I figured it's about time for me to register and join in on the Chrono discissions!
'Sup, I'm Katie and I'm a big dork who spends too much time online. Also I'm currently a college sophomore majoring in illustration! I'd like to draw comics and graphic novels someday.
