So what are your plans concerning Chrono Trigger DS?
I just pre-ordered mine today at GameStop. Daggum, here in Alabama the game costs over $40.00 with tax. But that's okay; it will be worth it!
And I should note that I am buying a DS just for Chrono Trigger DS - but I should note that I have been wanting one for a while, so this is my excuse for finally caving in and finally buying one.
-
Aye, $40 is a bit much, but chances are that I'll get it. I might take a while, but I wholly intend to get my hands on this game.
-
Not pre-ordering it but I sure as hell am buying it.
-
Just a reminder, guys...
Please buy it. If we can prove that there is an audience for the Chronoverse, it greatly enhances our chances at getting another game! I know it's a pricey price tag, but isn't the payoff worth it?
-

That's like exactly what I am doing.
-
I want to pre-order it, but I probably won't. How much extra does that usually cost?...can you do that on the phone? I don't want to have to go there and then go there again to pick it up...Either way, I'm thinking I'm gonna get it...I have the cart & the PSX version...GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!! >_>
-
It usually doesn't cost anything extra - you just have to make a down payment to preorder it. I did mine at Gamestop and they only required me to put $5.00. I just went ahead and paid for it, though, so that's an option, too. That way all I have to do is pick it up.
-
Yeah, and you can also pre-order it off the CTDS site.
But Boo is certainly right: buying this game shows that the Chrono fan base isn't dead, and that's a message Square needs to hear. And if anything's gonna open their eyes, it'll be a crisp dollar.
-
Got it pre ordered the day I heard about it. I swear that was the fastest i've ever run in my whole life, 3 miles in under 5 minutes. I wound up being very sick and at my toilet for about an hour later on.
But in all seriousness, I'm curious who would join these forums, the Chrono Compendium and say you never plan on ever getting it. No hatred will come(unless it's a reason like "It's just a stupid remake with DS controls!") But yeah, is anyone actually going to say that? I really have to wonder...

That would be my sister. She's never played Chrono and doesn't understand one bit why I'm getting CTDS when we have the PS1 version. She's not a hardcore video gamer.
-
Well then I guess it's good she's not on these forums because I have a minister, a pitchfork, a torch, an Epoch ready to go to Salem and I've been practicing on my yelling.
But yeah, doesn't sound like she knows her stuff on the new Chrono Trigger. I know someone I know didn't understand why I felt the need to be first in line the second the doors opened. I'm missing school/work(not saying which cause of identity and all)just to pick this up. I'd like to meet the person with the stuff to stand in my way.
-
Well I can see where your sister is coming from. In most cases buy a game you already own is just a waste of money. In the case of CT:DS it is coming with new content, new tranlstion in a few points, etc. even then I might or might not get if I had an older copy, but all I own is the rom so I am buying it.
-
I am purchasing CT:DS, but lack an actual DS. Silly FW.
-
My mom pre-orded it. I got the receipt for my birthday. (Today ;) )
-
It is the second item on my four item-long Christmas list. The first is a DS. I want this game SO BAD. I will CRY if I don't get it. The system and the game are the only things I really want.

Happy birthday. :)

People are making Christmas lists already? I guess for the people who don't want to have a last minute prepared Christmas. (Me)
-
If I had a DS I'd get it, but I'm not about to throw out $150+ for this.

There are shockingly more reasons to get a DS other than Chrono Trigger, y'know? lol
-
Pre-ordered a Japanese copy from play-asia last night, it was shipped today. Can't wait!
-
You know, hearing how impressed people have been after playing CTDS is really makin' me change my mind...I should just buy it and play through it. I mean, Thanksgiving break is more than enough time to play and finish the game...I have a DS, I got $40, I should just quit stalling.

Going by the amount of changes/improvements, it's well worth paying for.
-
Gonna get it in whenever it comes out here (I iz a englandian).

My mother asked us to send out Christmas lists. So we did. We try and get things done when they're less expensive (we're cheap as all hell).
-
My wife's birthday is November 25th.
Guess who's getting a gift? Oh sure, she is.
But so am I.
-
I'll get it, but probably not get very far... fscking shoulder buttons don't work like they should. ;-;
-
Getting it for X-Mas (stupid parents ).
-
I'll probably end up picking it up when I buy a DS (soon), but considering there are a slew of other games out that I haven't yet to touch (Phoenix Wright, The World Ends With You, The new Pokemon games, etc.) I'm feeling a little iffy about spending my money on a game for which I already own, even with the extra content added in. Now, if Square had completely overhauled it, then definitely yes, but a new dungeon and monster training just don't bring it any higher than a "maybe" for me.
-
It's probably going to be awhile before I get it. I was thinking of getting it close to when it cam out, but I only have like $42 on hand. And I still have to buy Christmas presents for my family. So I don't want to be broke by the time that comes around. It's going on my list though for sure. But I'm not expecting to get it. My parents and family tend to not get very expensive gifts.

Actually I got a DS because of Chrono Trigger DS.

Actually, I did, too. And I got my wife Harvest Moon to be nice. Now I LOVE the DS.

Very nice. My girlfriend got me DS, but she's not really into games so much. I got her some Coach stuff in return.
