I'm just curious.  Here's a little survey I wrote.  Fill it out of you want!

(Hopefully I'm not posting this in the wrong place.  Heh, heh.)

- How old are ya?

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?

- What's your favorite color?

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?

- What kinda computer are you running on?

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

- Where are you from?

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

Oh and by the way, here's mine...

- How old are ya?  I'm 20.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?  Actually, when I was about 16 or so, my friend lent me a copy for the PS1.  I played it and got irritated 'cause it took so long for the battles to load.  Cut to a few years later, I find a copy for the SNES, and I've been pretty much a huge fan ever since.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?  I do.  I'm a vet technician at a local animal hospital.

- What's your favorite color?  Lime green.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?  Orchestral arrangements ftw.

- What kinda computer are you running on?  I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters? Pirates of the Caribbean 3.  (I'm pretty much poor lol)

- Where are you from?  California, USA.  But I currently live in Idaho.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC? A sequel would be nice, if it had the characters from CT in it.  PLAYABLE mind you.

- How old are ya?

I am twenty years old, and will be twenty-one on March 24th of next year.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?

I think around 2001 when a friend briefly lent me their SNES. I didn't do very much with it because I couldn't figure out how to work the console at the time since before that I had never touched a console. (I was a pure PC gamer.) But the first time I finally played a game was playing the PSX Chrono Trigger in 2002 when a different friend lent it to me.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?

I don't have one right now, but with some luck and hard work I will be a sailor in the U.S. Navy within a few months.

- What's your favorite color?

Green.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?

I can enjoy both, but I would prefer an orchestral arrangement.

- What kinda computer are you running on?

I built it from parts from NewEgg. 2.42 GHz Dual Core processor, 2 gigabytes of RAM, 7900+ GTX video card, a very good soundcard that I probably spent too much on since I only ever use a headset...

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

Oh, damn...no idea...it's been awhile. Probably Firewall...I went to see it with my then girlfriend.

- Where are you from?

I was born in Georgia on March 24th, 1987. Moved to Middletown Ohio(more like Madison Township outside of Middletown...) in February of 1988. Moved to Oxnard California in July of 2000. Moved to Colorado in August of 2002, and have since been moving from house to house every year until we stabilized into this house, which we've stayed in for two years and will hopefully stay longer.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

I would prefer any game to be on a console I actually own(or at least be something I could emulate.) I would prefer a sequel of some sort though, in the vein of Chrono Cross via expanding the universe rather than being a Chrono Trigger or Cross II.

- How old are ya?
18

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Played CT when it was fairly new on the Super Nintendo. I can't remember what episode of Simpsons was on when I finally beat it, but it had Sideshow Bob.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Nope :(

- What's your favorite color?
The color of bubbles, lame as that sounds.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral, but only if it really is better than the techno remix.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
an old Windows XP

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Spiderman 3, I think

- Where are you from?
Born in Texas, raised in New Mexico

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Neither. Sequel could be nice, but that implies straining for more Lavos conflict. If something must be made I'd like a remake of CC with less characters, more RD tie-ins (yes, that means Magus wrestling orcs), and a clearer resolution.

- How old are ya?
20

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Can't remember... I was probably at some point between 1997 and 1998. It was CT on emulator.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Nope

- What's your favorite color?
Red

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral, but with loud drums and stuff like in Time's Scar, not some boring ambiant arrangement.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Built from lots of different parts, with an Intel Dual Core processor.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
"Wedding Crashers", it was ages ago...

- Where are you from?
France

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Definitely a sequel. Given the "no rehashing" philosophy of Kato it doesn't even need to have Lavos in it.

- How old are ya?

21

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?

Summer of 2002. Ramsus gave me a list of RPGs I should play since I basically missed out on the entire genre on the SNES (though I at least played SMRPG, which got me hooked on it). I beat Breath of Fire I, then II, then hit Chrono Trigger. Needless to say, Zeal's allure was overwhelming and I loved the game. Later that year, I played Chrono Cross and discovered OCRemix after finding bLiNd's DreamofZeal on WinMX.

Needless to say, I didn't get the plot of Chrono Cross, but the atmosphere of the game was enchanting and I even dreamed of it a few times. Fast forward to May 2003, when I made a map of Enhasa and started a thread on the OCRemix forums. Suddenly, we started analyzing the plots and I began making the Chronology. Ramsus asked if we wanted to make a site, but I thought it'd be too much work (like assembling overworld maps). Nonetheless, I came back from vacation in July 2003 to find the original PHPNuke Compendium (http://ramsus.guiltyparties.com/cc/, click here (http://web.archive.org/web/20030924200654/http://www.chronocompendium.com/)). Radical_Dreamer hails from that thread's genesis; he was there from the beginning with us.

We realized that no other site really did the analysis thing (except for Letrimh's), so we got to work writing articles. I started forums expecting to get no visitors whatsoever, but like magic, the greatest founding fathers wormed their way in (Lord J, GrayLensman, Aitrus, Chrono'99...basically people you see first if you organize this forum's Members list by date, even though this is a separate forum database). That's when it "took off". Of course, it wasn't until January 2006 that I found the resolve to actually complete the site.

- What's your favorite color?

White. As in, wearing white shirts.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?

There has to be middle ground here; good examples are Requiem for a Green Revolution and Memories of Green at OCR. Those are my favorite. Outright trance remixes don't go very far unless handled well (bLiNd is a good example), while outright orchestral can be boring and dull. Honestly, who rocks piano remixes, save for the very best ones?

- What kinda computer are you running on?

A stupid one.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

Pirates of the Caribbean 3. The ideal of piracy is supported well by upper management here, haheheh...

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

A sequel, damnit. Kato STILL HAS IDEAS FOR A SEQUEL!! He tried to MAKE ONE in 2001! I must know what happened to Magus and the other characters; how the Fall of Guardia transpired; how the timeline winds up after Chrono Cross. But more than that, I want to see how Kato expands and reinvents Chrono again, this time with more directorial experience under his belt. And, on top of even that, I want to see where he takes the series temporally. If his recent Mana Time Crash clone is any evidence, he's still got a sweet taste for temporal mayhem without resorting to Yuji Horii-paradoxes.

- How old are ya?

21

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?

As a kid the first "RPG" I ever heard of was Super Mario RPG, which had good coverage in Nintendo power. However, none of the local rental places in the small town I lived in had it (the population was about 7000 people), so I started looking at similar games and ran across Chrono Trigger. As such, it was the first RPG I really played.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?

Active-duty Air Force. I'm just over a year into language training as a military linguist in the intelligence field.

- What's your favorite color?

Red

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?

Don't care.

- What kinda computer are you running on?

Doesn't matter.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

American Gangster

- Where are you from?

Oklahoma. I spent my childhood in Oregon, always out in the forests on family drives or camping and fishing, but I spent my formative years in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma for a few years on a full-ride National Merit Scholarship. Of course, I've been in California for the last year doing language training, and in a few months I'll be in Korea before coming back and then going to Texas.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

Don't care.

- How old are ya?
17.
- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Back in 1999 or so, my older brother downloaded games and played them on an emulator. My younger brother played Chrono Trigger. I didn't try playing for myself for a few years.
- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
No.
- What's your favorite color?
Blue.
- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Maybe orchestral, I'm not sure.
- What kinda computer are you running on?
I do most of my stuff on an old laptop. Edit-It's a Toshiba Portégé 3480
- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
I can't even remember.
- Where are you from?
California.
- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Not sure right now.

- How old are ya?
23, within less than two months of 24. I guess that makes me near the oldest on the forums, or at any rate few would be older.
- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Summer of '02. My friend gave me a whole bunch of emulated games because he wanted me to play Mario, but I thought the name 'Chrono Trigger' looked interesting, and beyond that thought it was kinda neat that you could change your name, so I played it.
- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
I had a job in the summer, working in the office of an oil refinery under construction. Now I'm a student again, which is a vocation, if not a job per say. Sufficed to say if I wanted a job, or required one, I could very easily get one.
- What's your favorite color?
Black, perhaps. There are few colours more regal, formal, or adaptable (what colour doesn't look good on a black background, after all?) Beyond that, blue or green.
- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral, most certainly. Techno... *shudder*
- What kinda computer are you running on?
A good one, I think. I'd have to check the specs. I had a friend of mine help me pick components for it so that it'd be cheap but pretty good. Here... AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+. My graphics card is an ATI Sapphire X1650 Pro. I only have a gig of RAM, though. But essentially I can run most programs up to things like Company of Heroes.
- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Oooh, let's see... hm... it's been a little while. I think it was Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Meant to go see American Gangster, but it was sold out.
- Where are you from?
Alberta, Canada
- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Meh, ambivalent. A remake has the surety of many things, with the added benefit of added graphics and what not... in other words, it'd definitely be good. A sequel is more of a gamble, but has the potential to be more interesting.

- How old are ya?
I'm 20 years old, 21 by the end of December.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
At 1997 or so, with Trigger, on the SNES.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Yup. I work at a tourism agency/events operator, in the marketing department. I also work as interpreter during events, once in a while.

- What's your favorite color?
Deep blue.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral. With some electric guitar added, and some nice percussion, if possible.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Until next february, an Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2140 1.6Ghz, with 1gb DDR2 667 ram and a GeForce 8500gt video card. I'm planning on getting a Core 2 Duo E6750, with 2gb DDR2 800 ram and a GeForce 8800gt. Bless nVidia for this marvelous accomplishment!

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Saw IV.

- Where are you from?
The capital of the Southernmost state of Brazil.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Sequel, absolutely!

Edit: Well, I think there's an interesting question that's been left out, so I'll take the liberty to add it:

- Are you on university? What course?
Yes. I'm not sure how my course is called in English (Languages, I guess?), but anyways, I study Languages and Literature with emphasis in Japanese at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.

- How old are ya?
I'm 14 years old.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
In 2005, I read about Chrono Trigger in a magazine, it sounded really interesting, so I found it and played it.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Used to work in a restaurant, but it shut down :(

- What's your favorite color?

Green or Blue, I can't decide....

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Either as long as the arrangement is good :)

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Somthing my dad built for me.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Pirates of the Carribbian 3

- Where are you from?
Marysville, a small town in Victoria, Australia. Nice town, but not much to do except during the Winter Lake Mountain next to the town has snow on it, so you can go skiing.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Either would be great, although I suppose I would prefer a sequel.

- Are you on university? What course?
I'm not in University.

- How old are ya?
23

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
A month or so after it's (NA) release, I believe, I got a used copy of CT for my birthday. I was skeptical at first because the only other RPG I had really played before it was FFVI (which I knew as FFIII even though Nintendo Power informed me that it was VI in Japan...weird!).

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Nope.

- What's your favorite color?
Crimson...and then Black (though that's not really a color, is it)...I'm so goth! OOOOooooOOOOoooo...lol

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
I enjoy both, but I probably love Techno remixes (that are good) more because they're slightly more original...

- What kinda computer are you running on?
What computer? This is a library computer! V_V

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Uhhhhhh...I'm not sure...I haven't been to the theaters in HELLA...maybe...Batman Begins? Or Clerks II? I suppose it depends on which came out after the other...

- Where are you from?
Tac-Town, Washington...though I grew up in Eatonville, Washington and was born in Puyallup, Washington. TA-DA!

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Definately a new sequal, regardless of platform. It could be on the Wii or the PSP or the DS for all I care. A remake of CT would be nice on DS and a remake of CC would be nice on PSP.

Or how bout a replay on PCP!?!

How old are ya?
23. I must say, I'm extremely impressed with all of you; I would have thought everyone here was older based on the deep philosophical analysis the Chrono games have received at the Compendium, and the artistic talent and programming knowledge the community possesses. Proves that Chrono fans are a cut above the rest. 8)

When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Ah, the late Spring/early Summer of '95. I strolled into a then-new shop called Wal-Mart, picked up an issue of Nintendo Power frought with Akira Toriyama's artwork for the game and a walkthrough of Manoria Cathedral. And here I am.

Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Currently unemployed other than college. I've previously worked as a Spanish tutor and for the Ohio Democratic Party during the '06 election cycle. The latter was unpaid, however...because Ohio has very few paid jobs anymore.

What's your favorite color?
Royal blue. The color I associate most with Zeal.

Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
An orchestral arrangement, as long as it turns out like Darkest Omen by mv.

What kinda computer are you running on?
AMD Sempron Processor with an ATI Express Graphics Card -- NEVER go with an ATI Express for your graphics card, folks! Running Blender is murder, though trials of 3D model programs that you have to pay up the wazoo for (e.g., 3DS Max) work much better. I call conspiracy.

What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King. I never go to theaters anymore, though that'll change once James Cameron finishes Avatar and Battle Angel.

Where are you from?
Ohio -- the Heart of it All, and where the unemployment rate really IS 88% judging from my locale.

And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger on PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
I'll take anything at this point, as long as it's on a console and not on a handheld system or cellphone.

How old are you?
7665. no really. I'm not joking.

When was your first experiance with the Chrono games?

When I was 6 my cousin let me play it.

Do you have a job? If so what do you do?
Yes. I work for my father as a sectary and a delivery boy. I'm also self employed as a professional Gambler and Artist. (fuck you jobless assholes, I got 3.)

What's your favorite color?
Red. Guess why.

Would you rather listen to  a techno remix of a Chrono song or  and Orchestral arrangement?
.... why techno? Techno is a genre of music that is signified by a more robotic set of instruments (i.e. synths and synth drums n' shit.) Personally, I've got a little bit of everything in my Ipod: Acoustic Radical Dreamers- without taking the jewel, to trance and soft rock. It really just depends on how the song sounds.

What kind of computer are you running?
.... lemme see: an old Epro series mother board running on 3 214 mb ram cards with a nvidia 5600 vid card, a reeeealllllyyy outdated soundcard, with a scanner, two turntable speakers hooker up the the audio, and a tablet instead of a mouse.
oh, and an old as shit Pentium 3 processor.
all put together by me with a copied OS.

What's the last movie you saw in theater?
dunno. think POC3

where are you from?
nor cal. Yeah area.

And lastly... what would you prefer? A remake of Chrono Trigger on ps3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Well, first of all, nobodies gonna put anything on PS3, the system to too much shit to use. but a Wii version of CT? All game for that. LOZ style maybe? Also wouldn't mind him or Frog or Magus in brawl.
Personally, A sequel combining the two games would be nicer, though :3

I'm sorry, I just need something to DO right now. I'm bored out of my mind and we don't have school, so I SHOULD be doing my math... but algebra's evil.

- How old are ya?
I am fifteen, gonna be fifteen and a half this coming... December... 9th.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
I forgot when. It was might have been six months ago. We got a SNES emulator and my sis got Chrono Trigger. She got SO angry that I played 'Chrono Frigger' (as she called it) instead of FF6! I ALMOST beat it, too! Goddamn Lavos... the first game in the series I actually beat was Cross.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Nope! Sorry.

- What's your favorite color?
I enjoy the colors green and blue, usually green over blue.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Toughie... hmm.... depends on how its handled, really.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
I don't remember. Compie, the Internet Computer, got something in him and his power button got stuck, so he got a new body. It doesn't have what brand of computer Compie is now.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
I think... it was... the Spongebob movie. My foster mother DRAGGED me to it for her daughters birthday.

- Where are you from?
The glorious state of Massachusetts. ... how bad is it that I can't spell it right?

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Aaaaaaagh! ... well... gimme a moment...
A sequel. Plot holes are still gaping in my mind that could either be filled or opened wider with a sequel. However, a remake would still leave them gaping. So sequel it is!

-How old are ya?
23, and will turn 24 very soon.  (After reading the first page, I thought for a moment I might be one of the oldest members! :)  *whew* )

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
My boyfriend kept giving me his SNES catridge to play back in the winter of 2000.  I kept blowing him off between work and school, and because the games he usually recommended I never liked.  :)  I relented around Christmas break, and thought, 'eh, I'll play it about thirty minutes, maybe I'll get into it'.  I was subsequently unavailable for the next two weeks.  :)  I even got mad that I had to go to my Christmas Eve family get-together because I'd just discovered the Kingdom of Zeal and I wanted to explore Enhasa.  :)

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Yes.  I work about 50 hours a week as the manager of a movie theater.  In fact, I usually spend so much time working that I don't actually get around to watching the movies.  *le sigh*   :(  As it gets closer to Christmas, my workweek will steadily get longer.

- What's your favorite color?
Green has always been my favorite.  A dark, emerald green.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral, hands down.  I do enjoy listening to techno remixes quite often, but I prefer orchestral.  Eh, I'm weird.  :)

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Dell Dimension 8200... though I've gutted several parts and replaced them since I bought it.  I'm currently saving up money for a laptop that I can carry to work with me (our computers there suck.  The best one has 32MB of RAM and runs Windows 95.  It makes MS Excel/Word a pain to work with at times.).

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Haha, what a question to ask the manager of a movie theater.  :)  The last movie that I actually sat down and watched all the way through was The Brave One, but the last movie I actually saw in a theater (all of two minutes) was Beowulf.  I was unfortunately having to kick three kids out for throwing popcorn at an elderly lady.

- Where are you from?
North Carolina, USA.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Hmm.... Well, I'm not sure.  I believe that if CT were to be remade into a PS3 game, it would spur a considerable amount of support into the series as a whole, drawing newer gamers into the Chronoverse.  If SquareEnix thought they could make money out of it?  They'd probably go on to redo Cross, then a sequel.

But if I had to choose, I'd love a sequel.

- How old are ya?
19

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
2000, on emulator. It was one of my first RPGs...

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
Yes, PHP programmer... I work part time at the university.

- What's your favorite color?
None.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Pentium 4 2,66 Ghz... GeForce MX 4000... 512MB RAM... HD 80GB... etc...

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Over the Hedge

- Where are you from?
Brazil - Near São Paulo...

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Sequel... a remake would be pointless, unless it fixes Marle's paradox...

- How old are ya?
25 (luckily I am not the oldest one here)

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
1995.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
I'm an administrator. So in other words, I baby-sit adults.

- What's your favorite color?
Light-Urple... or maybe green

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral (thus a desire to go see the Play! Symphony)

- What kinda computer are you running on?
The desktop kind (it's not mine so I couldn't tell you much more)

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Possibly Transformers

- Where are you from?
California, but now reside in Texas, the What-Am-I-Doing-Here State.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Why would I want a remake of the PS3? Or did you mean "for"? Anywho, a remake might be fun but it was good enough to stand, as is, the first time around (thus, release it to the Wii's Virtual Consol). A sequel would be good, but would probably need to be on the 360, Wii, or maybe DS. A new chrono game would need to be innovative and the PS3 is about as innovative as the Spruce Goose

and to resurrect that added question:

Are you in a University?
Technically, and I will hopefully be teaching at one soon enough, but I'm no longer a student at one.

Almost always orchestral, if that makes sense.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Beowulf.

London.

Nope.

I am totally bumping this.  Hardy har har.

- How old are ya?
I'm 21.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
In early 2007.  My boyfriend introduced me to Trigger, and I fell in love with it.  I played Cross for the first time this past summer, shortly before registering an account here.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
No job, unless you count "full-time student" as a job.

- What's your favorite color?
The colour of the ocean in this picture::

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Orchestral, hands down.  I'm a sucker for techno (it makes me super happy), but orchestral music is so much more beautiful.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Um...it's a Gateway laptop.  Windows Vista.  That's about all I can tell you, heh.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
I think it was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  I rarely go to the cinema.  Not a fan.

- Where are you from?
That depends on what you mean by that sentence.  :P  Born in America, moved to the Philippines when I was a year old, lived there for the vast majority of my life, lived in Scotland for 4 years, and I've been going to university in America since 2006.  I'm a Scottish-Filipina-American ethnically, nationally, and culturally confused child.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?
Sequel!  Please!

- Are you on university? What course?
Yup.  Almost a senior.  I'm studying English Literature and I was a History minor for a while.

Definately a new sequal, regardless of platform. It could be on the Wii or the PSP or the DS for all I care. A remake of CT would be nice on DS and a remake of CC would be nice on PSP.

Or how bout a replay on PCP!?!

Holy shit, lookit that, the thing I said became a thing (sorta)! Now do the other things I said, SE!...er, not the replay on PCP part...>_>

Holy moly! You're a clinical psychologist at 24? I don't know whether to give you my congratulations or condolences. It can be a satisfying profession, though! What are some of your areas of interest?
Title: Re: So tell me a little about yourselves.
Post by: Dapifer on January 20, 2010, 04:44:52 am
Well... Thank you, at age 12 I decided I wanted to learn what was inside the "black box" we call brain, so all my life has revolved around getting to learn more about what goes on in our minds. When I wasn't studying I was playing videogames or reading books =P

My areas of interest... well, pretty much everything. But I guess it would be find the answer to the question.

"Why?" is the most common question. For better or worst, the answer almost always leads me to another question, "How?".

I am not that stuck up on psychoanalysis though, I prefer an approach more akin to Humanism. I had mostly worked in tandem with a person a respect a lot, a mentor of sorts, he's a Neuroscientist. We worked with people with neurological impediments, but after my time with him I have worked with people inside the autism spectrum, even though I don't know that much about their condition. I mostly did that for the experience.

My real goal would be to become a psychotherapist, but I haven't found a way to establish a practice yet. I like field work more than lab work, but I enjoy research and experimentation. It's just that I find that working in a lab can be a very de-humanizing endeavor.

I worked recently in a care center for people with low income, but ended up "promoted"(I guess...) to give the medical staff various psychological treatments, mostly tools for managing stress and couping mechanisms.

I am not that smart, really... but teachers always told me I am a very emphatic person, perhaps that's why I happen to be good at what I do.

If anything, my area of interesting is something called "Truth". You would be surprised how much we humans complicate our lives, far more than we need to. I understand some people need the drama or the spice, but most people really go out of their way to create phantom enemies in their minds and having demons to vanquish. I think it's because we see that kind of stuff on TV, Movies, Games and all sorts of media, and we want that kind of pizazz in our lives. I liked how in the movie "The Matrix", Agent Smith told Morpheus that the first Matrix was a paradise, but everyone rejected it, so instead, they tried to create a troublesome world to mimic our own lives, and people responded incredibly well to that. I understand that the bittersweetness in life must exist, for we can only truly appreciate happyness because we now of sadness, but really... some people seem to think they need to pay for every waking second of happiness with tragedy and despair.

I will always try to become a successful psychotherapist, but now I think a more realistic option is to teach, after all, I have always been better with words than with pencils. I traveled a lot, moving from one place to another in order to broaden my idea of the mind. That is, until I realized there were places on the internet that weren't all about memes and fads. Since then I have looked for places on the internet that offer me insights on the collective mind this virtual sub-culture is, and I have found some very rewarding ideas, as well as a lot of nonsensical crap.

I have learned a lot from your own entries here on the Compendium Lord J Esq, I thank you for providing some interesting and very delicious food for thought. There have been some topics I would like to participate, only to find out you have pretty much said it all. I feel akin to your idea of cementing our opinions with facts, not just demonstrating our echolalia to the rest of the world by repeating something we heard some other people say, or worst, something we watched on some crappy talk show(I am looking at YOU, "Dr." Phil)

I am a better speaker than I am a writer, because I can't read the other person body language, I have trouble realizing when I have said enough... and always end up going into some random tangent(like I did just now) so I am finishing this post here. Sorry if my answer was not what you were looking for.

Hoo-ray for thread-bumping!   :D  Though I gotta say, a lot of the responses make me feel very old...  :picardno

- How old are ya?
Err...... 25.  Anyone else out there at the quarter-century marker?  :?

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
Back in the glorious, waning days of 16-bit, in 1995.  Rented it - and the system - from a video store.  Didn't own it til years later.  Still have the cart somewhere.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?

I'm every university freshman's nightmare... I'm a Teaching Assistant / Marker for three sections of undergrad history.  Write in caps lock, use 'download' as a verb for dialogue, or open a paper with a two-pages long paragraph made of five sentences and I will dock you serious marks.

- What's your favorite color
?
Dark green.  I miss forests from back home...

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?

Orchestral.  I refuse to acknowledge techno as a legit genre of music.

- What kinda computer are you running on?

Mac OSX w/ Snow Leopard.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?

It's pretty rare that I go to the movie  theaters these days... I did see Toxic Avenger: The Musical! on stage awhile back, and it was great!

- Where are you from?
Canada, on the east coast... nowadays I'm in The Big Smoke for school.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

A sequel, but in 2-D for nostalgic value.

- Are you on university? What course?
Yeah... I had interviews for two gov't jobs lined up, but turned them down to travel. So I'm still in school.  I do mostly post-Soviet stuff.

- What's your favorite color?
GOLD.  Reds and greens are nice, too.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
Tough call.  Orchestra always gives me an "Oh shit!" moment (MOST of the time) but I can listen to the remixes more frequently.

- What kinda computer are you running on?
If I ran on my computer I'd break it.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Avatar 3d IMAX orgy extravaganza.  Enjoyed it.

- Where are you from?
Not L.A.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of Chrono Trigger or PS3, or a new sequel to CT/CC?

Eh, I like the combo of light blue and grey. Seems to be what I go with more than anything. If we're talking about clothing, that is. If we're talking about skin color, it doesn't matter. If we're talking about food color, anything but moldy green. If we're talking about invisible spectrums, then infrared ftw.

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
I'd rather listen to a punk or metal version, even though I'm not a fan of metal usually, video game music translates into the genre beautifully!

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Hot Pink Reebox with Windows XD

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
Avatar

- Where are you from?
USA all da way

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of either original Chrono game on a current-gen system, or a new sequel?
I'd much rather have a new sequel, but I wouldn't mind a remake of Cross. I fear what would be changed in yet ANOTHER remake/rerelease of CT. However, I'm not nearly as attached to Cross because of the huge character roster. Slim that down and bump up the graphics to HD (a la God of War Collection), plus tie in CT a bit better like the new DS content did, and you've got a product this guy will buy!

(BTW I updated that last question cause it's a bit biased and outdated now.)

- How old are ya?
25

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
1995 or 96.  I can't remember time specifics that far back.  All I know is that I was almost 12.

- Do you have a job?  If so, what do you do...?
I am a photographer who gets to use a really, really neat camera.

- What's your favorite color?
I never know how to answer this question.  I suppose it depends on what the context of the color is.  For clothing, I like greens, browns, "cream" color (as in Woot Tee cream color), grays, light blues, and black.  In decorative artwork I find blues very calming and oranges, browns, and yellows inviting.  When I paint I usually go for a darker color scheme with bright colors and whites to add strong contrasting highlights.  I'm fond of using red if I can fit it in.  I'm one of those strange people who can honestly say, "I don't have a favorite color."

- Would you rather listen to a techno remix of a Chrono song, or an orchestral arrangement?
A live orchestral performance would be ideal!

- What kinda computer are you running on?
Just your run-of-the-mill Dell laptop with Ubuntu.

- What's the last movie you saw in theaters?
When was the last time I went to a theater?  I can't remember.  I believe it was when I went to Key West and happened to catch a showing of Iron Man.

- Where are you from?
Los EEUU.

- And lastly... what would you prefer?  A remake of either original Chrono game on a current-gen system, or a new sequel?
Wait, either?  What about a Radical Dreamers remake?  You have to admit that would be pretty cool!  But, I suppose I'd have to go with a Cross remake on a current-gen system.  I still have yet to play Cross, and I likely will not unless it is re-released in some fashion.

- When was your first experience with the Chrono games?
If it counts, I played Radical Dreamers in 2008 after reading several articles on the compendium and after someone introduced Chrono Cross to me.

Yeah,  now I'm maintaining a website, making web pages sometimes.

Hard to tell, orchestral arrangements are rare and usually have a better chance to have acceptable quality. But I think I like both if they have the quality satisfies me.
