This project is a transcription of the 43 song Chrono Trigger sheet music booklet to guitar tablature, as Cross already has both sheet music and tabs, but CT was stuck with piano. The files will be in guitar pro 5 format for ease of use, gp5 is a free download. It will be in guitar duet format. Designed for 6 string guitar, most of the rhythm sections have been moved up one octave to be playable on your everyday 6 string guitar.
Some samples: here is the tab for Magus' Theme. http://www.mediafire.com/?zyycyjyd3nw (http://www.mediafire.com/?zyycyjyd3nw) And here is 'To Far Away Times' on acoustic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXbSYmy0LJc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXbSYmy0LJc)

Are you sure you placed the notes right in the program you used to make the songs? Cause some of them sound out of tune and off beat, like the notes were wrong.

Wow, that is a nice guitar, man! I play on a Les Paul, meself. What brand is that? I really like the angled frets. Sorry this is off-topic but the picture is SO pretty!
-
I know a custom Luthier that lived near me back when I still lived in Missouri. His name is Bill Conklin, I prefer to call him god. just look up conklin guitars for the site. the angled frets are so the highest string has a shorter length by a couple inches, this makes it to where the string isn't as tense, thus reducing the chance of it snapping/breaking. it helps a lot. not to mention it seems to follow the natural pattern of your fingers when you play real fast or do chords.
-
I can tell it's probably a dream to play! The Conklin Guitars & Basses website is really terribly organized, but the guitars are gorgeous! I didn't know melted top existed, let alone how awesome it looks. Very very cool, man.

I'm talking about the songs included. I listen to them, and they sound really off. Like some of the notes are transposed.

Ok, on the acoustic ones, the Wind Scene. Most of that song sounds completely out of tune.

Highly doubt that this is an accurate version, if it sounds this off.
I went ahead and downloaded gp5 to see if it was just the wavs that were off. I changed the instruments many times, even to a piano and it all sounds off. Either you put the notes in wrong or your tab book is a phony, or something.
Does no one else hear what I am hearing?

I've been playing guitar for years, so I know the notes and I know how the piano notes work as well.
Changing octaves doesn't make a song sound like its completely out of tune or the player is playing the wrong notes. Working with Fruity Loops I have changed octaves many times with many different instruments from C0-C7, and when I do change them, they only change in pitch and don't sound like they are being played wrong.
I'm not bitching at you saying that it sounds like crap, you should do it better, I'm saying that what I am hearing in these songs sounds completely off, and I don't think people would give these a second listen the way they sound now.
You seem like you have been playing for a while, do you not hear how off these are? And if you do, does that not bother you that they aren't sounding like the original(note wise)?

Ok guys, version .3 is out now, there won't be anymore releases until it's complete.
-
I'll hold off on announcing until it's complete, since it seems to be moving really fast. Nice work.
-
Unfortunately I will have to agree with Dunce. Most of the songs are really off note, some are even sinister, like "Peaceful Days" or "Good Night". I know how it is to want to do something really nice, but not be sure how to reach a satisfactory result (not that this is your case, I've already done that too). I play acoustic guitar for 10 years, and I know that adapt music to other instruments is not easy, that's why I respect what you are trying to do. I'm just saying that you should review your work, which obviously looks promising, and work more to improve it. Because the way it is now, is not good.

Ain't bad. Ain't bad at all. I can help some with Frog and Magus Themes for guitar and piano, that's about it.
Random question: why are all the related videos for some reason about boobs?
-
to get more views by horny pervs who may have otherwise no idea about the game chrono trigger. I tag all my stuff on the internet with 'boobies', such as my piratebay torrents.
-
who is C4leb?
-
ah I should clarify, c4leb is a friend of mine on a completely different forum, he's an avid guitarist with a short background in piano, so he helped out a bit in clarifying a couple things.
-
Well I'd like for you guys to check out this vid, it's youtube so yes the quality isn't quite what the real thing will be, but you should still be able to get an 'idea'. I'd like for you to voice your mind as to the tone of the guitar, any and all constructive criticism is welcomed.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_2TjyrZNAw
-
Think you'll be posting any tabs anytime soon?
-
uh, yea sure......if you want I'll post one, any specific song you are wanting to see so urgently? I'm almost done, honest! Give it 2 more weex and it should all be completed.
-
I'm interested to see how you've modified things for guitar with all the songs. In particular, The Final Battle, Memories of Green and Magus's theme interest me.
-
Final Battle? If you mean "Last Battle" disc 3, track 14, I won't be doing that track, it's not in the sheet music. I would have to go thru an spc2midi file for songs not in the sheet music book.
I'll post Magus' Theme
