There was some chat a long time ago about Lucca being a lesbian, mainly because she hadn't got hitched to a guy by 1015 A.D. and was also sort of apprenticing Luccia from Porre. Here's Japanese text from the slideshow ending, where they talk about the Guardia soldier:

Cid in FF6 adopted Celes pretty much, she was like a daughter to him anyway. Lucca made robots and created and orphanage. Luccia looks after those mutant plants lol.

BTW, Has anyone ever thought that maybe Lucca's orphanage was some kind of undercover place to conceal the fact that she wanted to get back at Porre or something. Like the orphanage may have been her base of operations, masked by the fact that kids get looked after there. It would not be conspicuous enough to raise questions.
After all, Lucca was the one that invented the Radical Dreamers, and inspired Nikki whilst she was travelling around to make a band called Magical Dreamers.

It's not explicit, but Kid asking Nikki why he called his band 'Magical Dreamers' and her reaction when she heard a woman of some kind told him that, kind of points to that-It would make some sense, what with the heir to the throne and the princess being her best friends who had risked their lives for hers several times. It always pisses me off when people think the Radical Dreamers are an excuse for Kid working alone-How much damage can one girl do and not get caught? The Radical Dreamers are known as fearsome, and no girl, ESPICALLY Kid, woulden't be able to escape capture from the empire of Porre for too long. It's KID for Pete's sake, the only less cautious than Kid in the game is Poshul, damnit!
