Title: I wrote an English version of Radical Dreamers: Nusumenai Houseki.
Post by: vivify93 on February 28, 2012, 05:35:41 pm
Hello! I recently wrote up an English adaptation of the ending theme of Chrono Cross. It's in a bit of an archaic style due to me thinking Schala is the one singing the song.

A link to the song for reference. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBE3c9X0BoA

O! How the radiance does tremble so
Stored off in hands of youth to guard its soft glow
My travels lead me off land’s lofty tips
A fact that I’ve even traversed Time’s Eclipse

O! How my constant hunt has no relent
Though I know not your name, I do know my intent
It’s yours I keep within my earnest grasp
Given to you, this feeling’s all yours to have

Deep in his arms, Lord Time can catch them both:
Love and pain and kill their hold
But the days past scarred me so lovingly
And I’ll keep this belief
Eternally…

O! How it vibrates far within my breast
For I not know how long it’s slept in my chest
Though it be fainter than eve drops of dew
Truthiness here—and for these words, don’t eschew…

May this prayer that I spun toward ever dark
Pierce unmoving frozen stars
May it reach right to you past harrowed cries
To your so distant skies

The syllables should all match up except for "Eternally." You're supposed to sing the "e" of "eternally" right before the singer says the "zu" of "zutto."

Edit as of March 17th, 2012: I have edited the second-to-last stanza to make it flow a bit better.

Ooh, I've always wanted to do an aesthetic translation of Radical Dreamers. Thanks for the addition, Vivify93! (I shall dub thee "Vivi" from now on)

Nicely written and paced! Although I couldn't seem to grasp certain lines. XD Though, personally, I LOVED the last stanza!

Very nice job! I'm gonna try singing/playing it on acoustic guitar sometime.

Thank you, tushantin! What lines were hard to grasp, if I may ask?

That was beautiful!
Thank you, TheMage!

I'd love to hear it, G4briel. :D Make sure you grab the updated lyrics though, I edited the first post.

Very lovely. I personally enjoy the third stanza most, and how it ends on "eternally."
